And a line made me roll my eyes due to how redundant and cliche it is. "Survivors survive".
I read the book and if the typical "the book is better" holds true, this one's
really gonna suck.

If that whale dives, there's a lot of interesting ways to die, my money is on seizure from oxygen toxicity followed by drowning.
Possibly, but I'm betting that if the man isn't crushed to death by the whale's esophageal and stomach muscles, his gear is going to be damaged to the point where it'll be useless. Death from methane poisoning within minutes.
