I am a pro-life atheist

Re OP:
Always a hot topic - abortion. And I always end up coming back to the same simple conclusion on all these heated debates. If an 18 year old smokes some pot in his basement, or a Muslim worships Allah on his front porch, or a dozen gay men decide to make a porno in their living room, or a person with dark skin sends his son to my kid's school, or my neighbor gets a sex change, or a mother-to-be decides she's not ready to have a child and aborts the pregnancy .... none of these personal decisions is any of my fucking business. I have long since concluded that if it doesn't hurt me or anyone else - I just don't give a shit ... we're all going to be dead and forgotten in a blink anyway. People will buy weed, legal or not. People will worship, legal or not. People will abort babies .... that's right, legal or not. Let them be ... if it's not breathing air the mother gets preference. I've posted 2 posts contrary to Tiberious position without insulting anyone, can't you do that? I have already been through this with tiberius, and he even ran from an official debate with me over it. There is no changing his mind, nor will he debate it. Now that you know the history, I hope you realize that me saying "dont hold your breath" isnt even classified as an insult. RE: I am a pro-life atheist

Love the Rev but I agree. Disagreeing is no cause for gettin all up inside Tiberius' grill like that. If Tiberius is inconsistent, who isn't? Even if you convince him you're right that isn't going to make matters better for women. Even if he just has a sentimental attachment to the potential of the unborn that doesn't make him the worse human ever. You just disagree with him as do I.

I finally figured out how to express my opinion on this succinctly. I am also a pro-life atheist, right up until we invoke the process of law. I have strong personal convictions, but I don't think that my strong personal convictions are up to the task of legislating this issue, or directing the law in how to procede if abortion became illegal. So, while my own personal convictions are decidedly nearer the pro-life camp, I would always vote pro-choice.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
Whilst I would like to continue discussing this with people, various comments made in this thread and others have left a nasty taste in my mouth. I don't appreciate being lied about in a public forum, especially when the person doing so says it is I who should be held to a higher standard, and claims I "ran" from a debate with him (as if that even counts as something against me; people turn down debates all the time).
This is obviously a contentious issue for people, and for the sake of forum civility, I'm not going to make any public statements on it again. If you wish to ask questions / discuss this with me in private, please send me a PM.
