Personally I haven't noticed this but I have been stuck in fundamentalism for the last 30 years. Perhaps it's different online or when you look at Christianity as a whole. This is interesting. I feel like it's one of the cafeteria christian holidays. You know, the folks who go to church four times a year. So it may be that they remember 'oh yeah. I'm supposed to be out there converting people.' Drop in here, get their asses handed to them and split. It's one theory. Now in order for it to be a valid theory it needs to explain the data and make predictions for the future.
"A casual stroll through the lunatic asylum shows that faith does not prove anything." -Friedrich Nietzsche
"All thinking men are atheists." -Ernest Hemmingway "Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities." -Voltaire (March 19, 2012 at 1:45 pm)mediamogul Wrote:(March 19, 2012 at 12:57 pm)Ziploc Surprise Wrote: Are you serious? I have studied the Bible and the theology behind Christianity for many years. I have been to many churches. I have walked the depth and the breadth of the religion and, as a result of this, I have a lot of bullshit to scrape off the bottom of my shoes. ~Ziploc Surprise
I've tended to notice it. Maybe it's all the Catholics being driven crazy by fasting and not eating meat on Friday. Or maybe they decided to give up taking their Haldol for Lent.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

I agree though, the vast majority are angry and take out their frustrations on the people they disagree with. Such is the Internet I'm afraid. You shock and awe me, Sir. I even wrote an article about this experience for The Veridican. And I completely agree that there are atheists I've encountered here who are absolutely intelligent, willing to debate, and even more courteous than most religious people I encounter on so-called Christian forums. Ah Edward, you continue to try and evade your permanent ban from...what is it, 2 years ago now? Luckily I remember your website, and every time you come here under a new name you always have to show it off at some point, which of course allows me to ban you again for creating a sock account. Permanent means permanent. Now go off and write about how you were wrong about me, that I'm a terrible admin, and that our website is full of bigots that ban "freethinkers" like you. Believe me, I find your articles about us hilarious.
R.I.P Eyem4christ.
Added his latest username to our Hall of Shame. This is the 4th time he's tried to evade his ban. Some people just can't take a hint.
