RE: Power of prayer flunks an unusual test

Pretty old news and pretty well known. But it wasn't a bad attempt at a study by the Templeton Foundation.
God had a spiteful streak... or .. doesn't exist.

If you’re going to watch tele, you should watch Scooby Doo. That show was so cool because every time there’s a church with a ghoul, or a ghost in a school. They looked beneath the mask and what was inside?

Funny how christoholic and other religious morons like to claim the Gould NOMA shit and say science is unable to detect a supernatural god. Here is an effect that if it existed could be detected. Now the retreat is to absence of evidence is not evidence of absence, guess the concept that there should be evidence so an absence is actually evidence of absence is beyond their feeble minds ability to comprehend.

Yeah I read about that quite some time ago. Smiler tests had been done as well. Results showed that prayer had no effect whatsoever. Those who knew they were being prayed for had more complications. It's thought that, being more relaxed and reassured with the knowledge and belief that prayer will assure that you'll be fine meant less drive to survive. Whether that's true or not I don't know. Either way I'm extremely convinced that prayer is totally useless as it has no effect at all. Firmly ruled out.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - Carl Sagan
Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.
Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.
You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

It's always possible that god doesn't like to be tested.
This is stupid

"Oh look, God saved that one cancer patient! He had a miraculous recovery! It's a miracle!"
"Ok, but what about those other hundred cancer patients who just died, one of whom was an atheist? That assures he'll never have the opportunity of finding God."
"God knows best, he works in mysterious ways."

Right now, my country is in a state of emergency after a massive flooding and a cyclone which barely missed us by hours. Wonder what the theists are saying? The power of their prayers pushed the cyclone off its course.
Unfortunately, the same prayers did not work in the case of flooding, which claimed 7 lives and billions of worth of damage. Families have been left with nothing but only the clothes on their back.
