All you have shown is that the Jesus character claims to be the son of the God character in the book. So? Darth Vader claims to be Luke's father in the Star Wars movie. And again... So?

If he happily did it for Thomas the Apostle then why shouldn't he be able to easily do it for all mankind and end the discussion about his existence once and for all? "So," since I've shown that Jesus claims He is the Son of God, when someone reads the Bible and takes it for truth they will not have to wonder if Jesus made the claim, just say in'. The argument was not about the Bible being true, it was about Jesus claiming to be the Son of God in the scriptures.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.
If someone reads the bible, they will read that the Jesus character claims to be the son of the God character.
That's your point? Okay. The name of the thread is to do with dumb questions, not glaringly obvious points. The dumb question put to me was this, I could not prove that the Jesus of scriptures claimed He was the Son of God. Was just showing how dumb the question was!

Was just showing how dumb the question was! It's easy to make Jesus look like the Son of God within the Bible. You just say he accomplished prophecy #x. Things don't add up in real life though, like Luke's made-up census to explain how Jesus was born in Bethlehem. You can't explain that! On a side note, interesting how Mark, which was written first, doesn't have a birth story or resurrection story (as the earliest manuscripts don't contain a resurrection account).
