Canada's solution to school prayer: segregation.

How does being forced to do it in a group help in any part of this process? Sure as hell didn't when I was a kid, just made it ten times more awkward.

(P.S. DeeTee, are you ever going to learn how to quote properly? Seriously, this is just tiresome now.)
Why they would want to pray in schools is beyond me though.
If there were obligatory prayers, like in Islam, when you have to pray within specific time intervals, I'd probably understand. But Christians can pray anytime, anywhere, and it's non-obligatory to pray, and non-uniform(except for catholics and orthodox, maybe).

I too do not get why people need to pray in schools. Do it in them morning before school or when you get home. Either way, no one's listening.

Well, we can't know that. However I never really understood why people would want to pray in schools where they receive only basic secular education.
Like for example, if they were in a school which teaches theology with the purpose of training man of cloth, I'd understand.

Arch, you are stuck in an archaeological time warp at about 1910. Anything which modern archaeology has come up with which dismisses the asinine interpretations of preachers masquerading as archaeologists is foreign to you.

Only Christianity huh? What if Muslims became the predominant religion in your area? Would you have any objection if the school board voted to have Muslim prayers broadcast over the loudspeakers five times a day?

Quote: I do realize that other religions exist but they are not true and lead people to sin and destruction thus they can be outlawed from the public school system.

What an incredibly pigheaded thing to say. "I want MY religion in the public schools! But YOUR religion isn't true and leads people to sin and destruction so we can outlaw it in the schools!" This mindset is straight out of the 12th century!

God allowed 200,000 people to die in an earthquake. So what makes you think he cares about YOUR problems?

It sounds like DeeTee is advocating a fascist Christian theocracy. Hooray for Christian morals and values!
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

Yes God is listening. school prayer and Bible reading are needed n schools as many families omit those things from their daily lives and school woul dbe their only exposure to the fact that humans are not the top of the chain of command and need to know that someone bigger has standards they are to follow.

it helps keep society in check and from anarchy.

I have a little bone to pick with your signature.

#1. Science doesn't get you to the moon or the stars. In fact it has failed to reach the stars at all. God given intelligence and determination did the former.

#2. No suicidal fanatics from a false religion that teaches hatred for others flew into buildings. Most religions do not teach such activities are good and need to be practiced. Christianity certainly doesn't.

#3. It is appointed unto man once to die, then the judgement. Do you think that God is going to suspend that part of life just to please a lowly atheist like you? If all people lived to a ripe old age, we would still have to deal with Hitler, Stalin and other vicious people decades longer than we did plus the world would be so over-crowded that there woul dnot be enough food and wter for everyone. {then we would see atheists killing people just to survive}.

In other words, your signature is inflammatory and far from the truth.

Are you shitting me? You know, Christianity used to dominate politics in Europe. It's commonly referred to as "The Dark Ages".
