Well, I don't think that something has to be a divine commandment to be considered holy.
For me, my flag, my banner is holy.
My family is holy.
My nation and my values are holy.
Anyone who wishes to defile them will find me before them.

I'm with Aiza on this. And I would add that in a broader sense 'holy', or Q'dosh in Hebrew, can also mean something that we recognize as being 'set apart'. The word distinguishes between what is divine and what is profane. Dedications, like offerings, are set apart from the rest of the stock. And some things are also holy in themselves, like the Holy Spirit. The Word is holy, because it is set apart from all other writings.

I can assume, exactly what do you mean by this, I can assume? My faith is true, it's about truth, and it's truth is eternal.

Holy = Swiss Cheese

That plant has more substance than anything holy. It has an extra "l".

Terrific "non- answer" there

Holy Fuck?
Sure, if it is dedicated to God?
Since this is the closest the deists are coming I'll have a go at it. [sigh]
definition: Declared sacred (special) by religious use or authority.
As I was taught: separated unto God, belonging to Him, dedicated to God's kingdom, consecrated as in
dedicated to serving God

I agree with Aiza and ChadWooters, we become holy when we set ourselves apart from the world, dedicating ourselves to God. God said, be holy as I am holy, God is our holy example of being set apart from the world of sin.
My first statement was in reaction to a statement that did not fit the christians on this site.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

I know I'm not a theist, but I do have an opinion on things being holy or sacred. Nothing should be. Absolutely nothing. When something because unquestionable, you become manipulable. I'm not saying trust no one or anything like that, but questioning is a good practice. Never stop asking why, ect.

I've never seen being holy a reason to stop asking, God's holiness is so great we have to ask questions.

I think they mean "This is a piece of bullshit"
Atheism is a non-prophet organisation. - A dusty old book that I found that must be completely true because someone wrote it down.
