How about that!? I'm "saved", even though I no longer believe a single fucking word of it.
Then you simply handed your salvation back.

Perhaps he simply engaged his brain instead of running his mouth?

Precisely what any decent person -would- do if such a thing actually existed upon considering the price paid. Sick fuckers.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

So..."salvation", like a hot potato, can be handed back and forth? Christian dimwittery never ceases to astound me.

Calm the FUCK down. I answered your "single freakin question" the way I wanted to. Do I now have to answer your questions according to your proper standard of answer?

"Makes no difference to me."
Clearly it does. Otherwise you wouldn't be so butthurt by my simple response. Furthermore, you yourself said that you didn't know if anyone else had posted such a question. I was filling you on the back story of this debate that we've had over and over.

So once again ... calm the fuck down.

THAT'S THE POINT,IM NOT DEBATING WITH YOU OR ANYONE ELSE!! IM ASKING A SINGLE QUESTION TO WHICH THERE IS NO FOLLOW UP QUESTION SO PLEASE DON'T TELL ME TO CALM DOWN BECAUSE YOU ARE THE 4TH PERSON TO INFER THAT IM WANTING TO DEBATE WHEN I HAVE SAID NOTHING THAT WOULD IMPLY THAT!!!

Btw, I really DON'T care if you want to "play" or not. I'm interested in what some people have to say--you would not be one of them,so move along.

Actually, you didn't answer his question. You did lay out a nice strawman, though.

Also, he seems pretty calm to me.

Edit: Until the post above mine. All caps implies rage, man.

He does give motivation but people sometimes give in to other interests. God doesn't force you to stay faithful but I presume He would WANT those who call themselves Christians to stay faithful. It's not really a black and white thing,IMO.

You're right that did upset me. However, it pisses me off when I have said nothing to imply I want to debate anyone but its just assumed before I've even said anything that I'm GOING to dammit cause he's one one of them christards.
But, I thank you for your polite comment and I thank all others that were nice enough to answer my question without assuming too much.

If being 'saved' was such a transcendent and great experience, why would anyone ever want to reject it?

I'm not debating here . There was a question going on between two others and I asked this question of the man asking the first question.
For the purposes of this thread (except for thanking and answering questions that pertain to the original question ) I'm only interested in what I originally asked.
For those hell bent on assuming stuff ill go ahead and say regardless of your answer to my original question I assure you I won't ask follow up questions or attempt to make assumptions about why you are no longer identifying as a Christian.

Oh right, because it's more logical to believe "once saved always saved"? Why do you feel the insistent need to throw insults all the time, is it a fundamental aspect of your Atheism?

No, I'm sure its much more "logical" to believe that humans have "souls" that require "salvation", especially because it says so in an ancient book.

Quote: Why do you feel the insistent need to throw insults all the time, is it a fundamental aspect of your Atheism?
No, it is a response to smug, self-righteous, pious assholes constantly spewing christian nonsense. There is only one "fundamental aspect" of atheism: non-acceptance of the claims made by religious idiots.

Putting your head in the sand and claiming that no one can tell you anything unless they first bury their heads in the sand doesn't advance your argument.
