The Death Knell of the Prohition of Weed
#11
RE: The Death Knell of the Prohition of Weed
Well I know that when I'm stoned I like to do a cool 90mph through school zones in my Hummer while "rockin out" to Foreigner......
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I used to work with a guy that said he couldn't smoke weed, because it made him agitated and violent.

As for the cops...

I'm thinking of maybe jumping on this bandwagon if/when it comes to Wisconsin. Going to apply for a business loan at the bank and mingle it with my culinary skills, and open a restaurant centered around selling courses where pot-butter is an ingredient in either the appetizer, the main course, the dessert, the drinks, or some/all of the above.

You may want to partner up with a cab company, that stuff is potent. Big Grin

Y'know, guys, cops are only a small fraction of the problem. The prison industrial complex is a bigger problem; as long as wealthy plutocrats are making money locking people up in our war on drugs, they're going to fight tooth and nail any attempt we make to legalize marijuana.

Me, though, I think it should be legal. I don't like it much myself, but I have friends who smoke weed with no ill effect. In fact, the government should be able to see the advantages of legalizing marijuana as well: if it's legal, it's taxable. I've also read that in most places, where marijuana is illegal, it's easier for children to get it than it is for them to get alcohol simply because one is legal and subject to government regulation and the other is black market and subject to almost no regulation.

It's true, Tara. :/ Prohibition just causes crime to flourish. Our war on drugs has ruined Mexico.

Theres a hefty amount of puritanical undercurrent to this sort of thing, imo. The notion that if we aren't protected, essentially against ourselves, from this horrible substance..that we'll all fall into some default degenerative state. People otherwise uninterested will become shifty, criminal stoners engaging in numerous other forms of criminal activity. Definitely worth a giggle or two.

(lol, wish I could've found the "know your addict" clip....)

Well, that's the underbelly of it, yes, but as for the surface stuff, it's kinda obvious. Private prisons are being built all over the nation, with corporate tycoons making crazy amounts of money from locking people up. If marijuana were suddenly made legal, they would lose out on all those inmates in there for nothing more than simpley being in possession of marijuana, selling marijuana or using marijuana. If they lose inmates, they lose money so they do everything they can to push politicians to pass harsher and stricter penalties on people and they push judges to hand down harsh sentences with a long time in prison. We simply need to do away with private prisons; there's way too much potential for corruption.

Don't let all these lying, murderous potheads deceive you about the dangers of the reefer!

And without further adieu, your feature film.
