I was happy with the first part of season 3, especialy the new characters and their stories.

The heads in the watertanks and all that shit! Clearly "the governor" is a character slowly decending into madness.

I think (and hope) that throughout the next season we will se him go completly nuts.

Anyway, this season has been outstanding so far... my only issue has been the very average CGI. Nothing beats physical special effects when it comes to gore, so it has kind of bothered me a bit.

It's interesting because when he was introduced in the comics, he was alreay well into the 'madness' department. Rick was the one who was starting to go into bad places with his own issues at the time and I kinda saw the Governor as what Rick could turn into if he continued down that path.

Still, I can't help but hope Merl stays along and has a showdown with Rick. There have to be some hard feelings for Merl in that he still blames Rick for cuffing him to the roof in season 1 but Rick, on the other hand, is going to feel tremendously guilty over that (although, a lot less guilty after seeing the comparitive luxury Merl has been living in since then).
