Testify brother. I was so hoping this train wreck of a thread would get taken over by a follower of the True Faith. I had about enough of hearing from that brainwashed idiot blindly following some ancient desert god and his sad devotion to an ancient book filled with absurdity, terrible cruelty and calls for violence.
Now as we read our Bibles to understand what our Lord Yahweh wishes of us, we understand that love is evil when the body parts are similar and people who are gay need to be put to death.
Quote:Lev 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
Now it's not for us to question why the Lord decided that love is evil when the body parts are similar. The Lord says it, I believe it, that settles it.

What it means is that you should be willing to listen to other viewpoints, and even change your mind, but only if there is sufficient reason to do so.

Admittedly, the story (assuming it was not misremembered in any way) is hardly convincing. A man being stabbed in a place notorious for stabbings is not surprising. Worrying that you might be stabbed for going to a place notorious for stabbings is also not surprising. This man sounds more like he was angry at god than an actual atheist. His 'reconversion' was more likely him just getting over his anger.

I agree we should seek our bibles for advice. But you need to look at the word of God as a whole to get the character of God. God does not want homosexual men to be put to death. He said of adulterers in the OT that they should be put to death. But did you know God never put to death adulterers, he let them go free. Jesus pardoned an adulterer, David an adulterer was let live, Joseph was called a good and righteous man for not having Mary stoned when he found out she was pregnant, the penalty for her was death too. Homosexuality is no more wrong than adultery, adultery ruins families. But we are not as Christians to enforce OT laws, that Jesus and the apostles never enforced, we are to do our best to show the world love.
Please consider brother that Jesus came to seek and save the lost, and he (as the bible says) came not into the world to condemn the world but that the world through him might have life.
Hey I love God he is awsome.

Designed it? Are you fucking kidding me? God must be the most inept engineer of all time; power to do anything, but overlooked the cock in the ass bit (male or female, doesn't matter).
How dare you invoke an ancient text for the sole purpose of depriving consenting adults loving pleasure? Who are you to interfere?
You can stick to your Christian idea of missionary intercourse for the sake of procreation all you want, I'll have none of it; I like to fuck! And there's not a god damn thing you or your god can do about it.

Quick question, if I may - if the OT is so out of kilter with xtian NT beliefs, why not scrap it altogether? It's a bit like running Windows 7 and Windows 95 at the same time; there's bound to be conflicts.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Hi,
just to clear up the story a little, the valley is not notorious for stabbings, if you did a police report you might find there were 10 in one year. I used to meet heaps of people in the valley, and none of them had been stabbed. It was only on the day that God asked me "How would I like to be stabbed?", that I met a man who had infact been stabbed earlier in his life. He was the first person I met on that day. So the day God asked me "How would I like to be stabbed", the first person I met fitted what he had asked me, he had been stabbed. I hope you don't try to use statistics to reason away my experience. Statistic won't be in your favour anyway.
The fact is this sort of thing happens all the time to me. Not hearing God's voice, but spiritual experiences. God did actually tell me a person I could marry using a voice, and it worked out great, we are happily married with a kid.
