Reasons for God
RE: Reasons for God
Existentialist are you Saerules..... I think its quite an interesting belief (not that I know loada about it lol)

Yeah I just felt like a random post on your religious views
Mark Taylor: "Religious conflict will be less a matter of struggles between belief and unbelief than of clashes between believers who make room for doubt and those who do not."

Einstein: “The most unintelligible thing about nature is that it is intelligible”

Fundamental Christianity is bollocks not just illogical.

Or am I? How can you be so certain? How can I be so certain? What is 'certainty' anyway? Why does it matter? Why did you feel like a random post on my religious views? Have we met?

^Existentialism, as fr0d0 might see it ^_^ ROFLOL

Don't worry, I just love random posts Smile I even love the one I walked into earlier today Smile And say... haven't we met?

Back in the realm of semi-seriousness
Look at the quick comparison chart here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Absurdism Smile

I belong to a separate category of Agnostic Existentialism and Moral Nihilism Smile (I recognize that all things are taken on trust/faith/belief/confidence (fairly interchangeable by my definitions), thus I cannot accept belonging to either the theistic or atheistic branches Smile)

RE: Reasons for God
'pidgin hole'? I'm unfamiliar with that term Smile Would you mind elaborating? Smile (I now you see existentialism as 'Bollucks', so I made a small joke about how you might see it.... was I accurate though? Smile)

I'm glad you still love me Tongue But then again... Everybody loves me Tiger

Everyone loves you! You sure?! Smile

Yes I appreciated your joke about existentialism Big Grin You're nearly there - 'bollocks' has two "o's" Smile

People talk of being "pigeon holed" - meaning easily classified/ limited to a classification.

fr0d0 I agree fundamentalism is bollocks and illogical but so is orthodoxy. Orthodoxy is nothing more than an attempt at logic based on the assumption of the existence of god. In my view all religion especially the three religions of the book Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are bollocks as you like to say.

I am writing this to put forward my reasons for believe in God. I'll start off with more philosophical arguements and move on from there. It will be interesting to see your answers.

Reason 1: The Kalam Cosmological Arguement

Im taking this from William Lane Craig.

1. Whatever begins to exist has a cause of its existance.
2. The universe began to exist
3. Therefore the universe has a cause of its existance.
4. This cause is God (Not necessarly the Christian God)

This presupposes the anthro-centric notion that our understanding of (cause/effect) reality is complete, sans limitation. I believe it was Hume who challenged this a priori assumption.
