It is curious that there are references within both the Old and New Testament to Egyptian "wisdom". Here is an example from the Book of Acts. Acts 7: 20-22 20. At this time Moses was born, and he was extremely beautiful. For three months he was nursed in his father’s house; 21. but when he was exposed, Pharaoh’s daughter adopted him and brought him up as her own son.s 22. Moses was educated [in] all the wisdom of the Egyptians and was powerful in his words and deeds. Any article which fails to do this is littered with bracketed comments of 'citation needed'. I hadn't heard about Asherah. That is interesting. She seems to be a similar theme in various early religions. But we no longer include her. Here's a reference from Wikipedia on her. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asherah (February 18, 2013 at 12:18 pm)RichardP Wrote:(February 18, 2013 at 11:58 am)junkyardboy Wrote: man has worshiped gods from the beginning sure we do its the mary worship of the catholic church some jews have lilith

The Old Testament made borrowings from various other already existing myths from other civilisations, Babylon for instance and there will be some content from the ancient Egyptian mysteries in there as well. It's worth bearing in mind that the first person in history to put forward the concept of monotheism wasn't a Jew but an Egyptian Pharoah.

Lilith was the first woman God made for Adam made from clay the same way he was. But she went a bit evil and now flys around as a demoness causing cot death in babies. She may also be the wife of Satan. It's not mentioned in the Bible but it's in something.
