Paleo-Diet Myth

RE: Paleo-Diet Myth
Well, we -could- do without "some" people (re-sheathes the sword, slings the spear) Angel

I suppose you could refer the current paleo crop to the previous generations back-to-the-landers...who are almost to the man back-to-the-city by now. Nostalgia, fantasies of the nobility of yesteryear maybe?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I've given up cleaning after your bloody mess - swing away, you warrior you.

Like most fuck nuts, they've got an ideology and they won't be swayed from it. It's useless to argue. (Hence giving up on the Heavy Metals bullcrap with John V). The best I can do is keep offering links like this so people who aren't invested in it will realize what nonsense it is.

You have to take account of high levels of child morality, if you survived childhood you could live on average to about 50.

Child mortality starts to drop about the same time as everyone else so while true it doesn't really effect the point.

Quote: Exploiting newly discovered data from the 1900 Census of Population, Samuel Preston and Michael Haines present their findings in a volume that is not only a pioneering work of demography but also an accessible and moving historical narrative. Despite having a rich, well-fed, and highly literate population, the United States had exceptionally high child-mortality levels during this period: nearly one out of every five children died before the age of five.

RE: Paleo-Diet Myth
I certainly agree with the point that modern diets and modern medicine have many advantages over the paleo/antiquity ones, though I don't deny that there may be some downsides to it also (in some cases). But I think some people go a little overboard with this "natural is always better" by taking all these herbals, natural treatments, leaves, plants, and all that stuff and then tell everyone else that those things are somehow better than today's medicine. Of course, it's alright with me if they want to do that, because maybe that is something like a hobby for them and they feel safer by taking more "natural" stuff, but I don't believe that they are necessarily always better.

One example is that many people in parts of Asia even drink their own piss as an alternative medicine for things like the common cold, high blood pressure, constipation, cancer, and for many other things, and some of them think that the urine is the ultimate fountain of youth because of it's so-called "therapeutic" effects.

Quote:Advocates of auto-urine therapy believe that this combination can help cure everything from the common cold to cancer, boosting energy levels and sexual performance along the way. While the practice has always been popular in China, India and South-east Asia, a small but growing band of Western fans are also downing a daily dose. Books with titles such as The Golden Fountain all extol the virtues of urine.

Even I myself drank my own urine for a few days after reading about that in some websites that I came across. But, now, I don't believe that anymore. It is simply false, and nasty.

RE: Paleo-Diet Myth
The main downside of the paleo-diet was death via starvation and malnourishment (or death via means exacerbated by the same, such as being a slow running underfed low on the totem pole fucker trying to beat feet away from some hungry dogs). I'm not sure what downside a modern diet would have relative to that.

And more heart disease?

Well aren't they the stupid fuckers, then?

You are telling the whole internet that you chugged your own piss?

You are currently experiencing a lucky and very brief window of awareness, sandwiched in between two periods of timeless and utter nothingness. So why not make the most of it, and stop wasting your life away trying to convince other people that there is something else? The reality is obvious.
