Here's one for you, the percentage of atheist to Christians on this forum are probably 20 to 1, and all you guys are working so hard to stop any of us from proving the existence of Christianity as we define it. If it were not true you guys could take a long vacation and not worry. 2000 years have gone by and people are still working hard at stopping us from spreading the truth, you all have the biggest fail in history, we will march on till the end of time.

What if I stole a page from your ancestors and decided to put a sword to your throat? Would that help atheism keep its foot in the door and barge in with humanity's most successful tool of "spreading the truth"; unjustified slaughtering of innocents for the greedy ends of those exerting the violence?

Oh, come on. Really? I'm going to go bang my head a bit...

Then, I guess the Hindu are even more correct than you, they've been at it a hell of a lot longer. Same for Buddhism. Congratulations on lasting 2000 years, even though you spent most of it slaughtering your way to supremacy.

Christianity could remain an active world religion for 10,000 years. That doesn't go one step towards proving that it's not complete horse shit.

Finall, none of us are stopping you from proving the existence of your God and the truth of your superstition. We keep asking and asking and asking for you to prove these things.

You just can't fucking do it.

Thanks guys for helping me with the point I made. You all are so considerate.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Oh, how blind you are! You're welcome for us being peaceful in the way in which we compose ourselves when speaking the truth. If you ever want a sword to your throat though, don't hesitate to ask. I know you guys love playing martyr.

The evidence proves otherwise, especially in your case. There's a little bit of both. You hear it all the time, "Even if you had evidence for your f*cking genecidal c*nt god, I still wouldn't worship the a**hole." You can pretend that you're just a level headed and fair minded judge, but in the end its just posturing. You don't want there to be a god. At least Thomas Nagel was honest when he said,

Quote:I want atheism to be true and am made uneasy by the fact that some of the most intelligent and well-informed people I know are religious believers. It isn’t just that I don’t believe in God and, naturally, hope that I’m right in my belief. It’s that I hope there is no God! I don’t want there to be a God; I don’t want the universe to be like that.

I propose that we lose our beliefs on unproven and contradictory traditions and we also learn to embrace the truths of nature in order to come to the realisation that there could possibly be a Creator of some sort.

Deism. The best of both worlds!

The fact that there are atheists who are glad that your fucking genocidal cunt god isn't real does not prove that this sentiment is in any way intrinsic to atheism.

So it's your argument that duration proves the validity of something?

Guess you should consider converting to Hinduism then.

And, please, spare us all the tribulation angle. Christianity is, and has been, prevalent in the world for some time now. It's the easiest, most complaisant thing to be in the entire world.
