Probably knew something we didn't..lol. Maybe god snores, or cuts people off when they speak..you know..for eternity....(grinds teeth).

I would think that chanting "Holy, holy, holy, the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come" over and over again, forever (Revelation 4:8) would get pretty old after awhile. If you read on through verse 11, it makes North Korea look like a paradise.

Hell is a non-event drich, viable doesn't apply to hell or any alternative. The only thing on the plate right now is what you really wish would happen to someones corpse or "soul". As usual. So, you haven't given it any thought? Is that what you are saying?

Yes, that's precisely what he's saying.

Also, if I can't comprehend it: I can't say whether or not I want to be there.
Have you experienced or even full understand the 'forever' God is offering? Then how can you say you do not want it?

You're writing checks your god can't cash. Offering people eternities and invoking the shadowy specter of death and imprisonment simultaneously.
This is downright ghoulish behaviour Drich. You may as well whip out your fucking fork and start salting cadavers. No joke...I'm actually disgusted (and that takes alot).

Are we to assume that atheists, judged by the standards of the person who is doing the judging, automatically would go to hell?
Nothing abhors me more than the thought of a living forever, so like everyone else, instead of assuming I'm going to a magical fairy land of punishment, just be left alone and dead is enough. I've had my life, and its much more fulfilling and amazing knowing its finite.

I think that any eternity doing one (or only a few) things over and over sounds like hell, regardless of where you're doing it. An eternity of patting god on the shoulder and reminding him that he's just the bestest friend ever? I'd be tired of that after a few minutes. The alternative is apparently to spend eternity in a situation that's just as monotonous but only slightly more uncomfortable.
That's the hallmark of a supreme intellect-- to offer his creation the option of being slapped by his right hand, or his left hand.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

The concept of hell is immoral as a place of eternal torment. Eternal torment for minor infractions as well.
So in this imagined scenerio I would say oblivion was a better choice.
However there is no "fact" of hell so I spend as much time worrying about it as I do painting my nails.
Clue: I do not paint my nails.
