Undeceived, there is no mention of any hell in the Hebrew and Greek manuscripts, God has a much greater plan for us than you can ever begin to imagine.
Matthew 13:42, Jesus says: "And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth."
This pertains to purification
Matthew 25:41, Jesus says: "Depart from me, you cursed, into everlasting fire . . ."
everlasting should be age lasting
Mark 9:46, Jesus says: "Where their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched."
A not quenched fire will burn itself out when there is nothing left to burn eg: Sodom and Gamora an unquenched fire is being continually fed
Matthew 25:46, Jesus says, : "These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."
Eternal punishment should be age lasting chastisment, eternal should be age abiding
The man in Luke 16:24 cries: "I am tormented in this flame."
This is a parable, and means not what you think
Revelation 20:15: "And whoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."
The lake of fire is a symbol of purification
Are we supposed to throw out the idea of Hell because it is *only* mentioned 15 times? Or do you mean society's concept of Hell is a literary construct?--because I'd agree to that. The Bible itself is very clear: Hell is a place of perpetual torment.

Are you saying that Satan does not like the fact that "christiandom" believes the sacrifice of Jesus failed to save sinners, and His Father The God of love and mercy, will choose to be endlessly wicked by roasting His foreordained creation with agonising pain for ever and ever, The very reason a large amount of non-believers dont believe, is because of this pure evil and dispicable man made doctrin.

I admit to a bit of guilty pleasure in watching competing versions of batshit insanity try to debate which version of crazy is slightly less crazy.

While we're on the subject hell and satan. I've heard some of the disjointed christian shuffle on why god doesn't make any appearances anymore......but what about the devil. This is god's arch nemesis.....the biggest bad boy there is......he don't follow no rules.......how come's he never just pops up out of the ground, pisses hell fire on an orphanage, flips everyone off and then disappears.....how comes that never happensConfused Fall
