Quote:I guess the republicans are keen on having fatherless, illegitimate, born from rape children go around in the states. For what purpose?
The cynic in me thinks that it is a means of controlling women by forcibly saddling them with children. But that couldn't be it, could it?

It is because their dogmatism blinds them from pragmatism. They don't care about the consequences. All they care about is pushing their ideals, regardless of the effect they create. Well I too am an idealist, though I certainly fail to see what the ideal here is.

Again to what purpose?

The link between female poverty and children is well established. And "control" is its own purpose.

Their ideal is that once a sperm finds an egg and forms a zygote, that life must be taken to full term and born regardless of the circumstance.

Not much of an ideal, since its easy to realize friend
Well, I guess it's more of a belief that they believe that the child is blameless and that it should live.
But in that case, even if I don't quite agree, I'd say that they ought to fund a support group that financially aids these women. In some cases the woman herself might not be willing to abort the baby, who knows.
Are they offering any kind of help to these women that have become pregnant due to rape?

No, because the only thing they are concerned about is that the baby gets to live. After that, they do not care.

Here's the thing. Dumb Americans are lucrative. Plain and simple. Hell in many states school is able to be done at home from the computer and I saw an article on one governer who actually thinks kids should have the choice to go to school or not. Republicans are all about the money. They use religion as a means of gettimg what they want. What they want is the people dependent upon them for livelihoods, so they're easily pliable. The best example I can give in comparison to what their policies do is Wal Mart.
Wal Mart keeps its workers dependent on them for their livelihoods so they can't unionize, and as an added bonus they also end up on social support so their vote can be swayed to the candidate whose more likely to not revoke their benefits. Benefits that are spent at Wal Mart and then the profits then turned around to lobby more of the peoples' rights away. The people have no choice, in essence, meanwhile Wal Mart makes untold fortunes and doesn't even have to provide health insurance or overtime benefits since they usurp the system by holding the majority of its employees at part time wages. In the meantime employee s get sick just Once and they have a hospital bill they can't pay and must file bankruptcy, thereby making an entire class of dispensible worker bee consumers that live breathe work eat and shit profits.
Problem is this business plan is a detonation to society. Costco pays its employees 14 $/hr to push carts and gives benefits. And they're making just as good profits while providing my family members with the abilities to buy houses, new cars, furniture and put away for retirement.
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!
Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.
Dead wrong. The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.
Quote:Some people deserve hell.
I say again: No exceptions. Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it. As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

Ah, yes...and yet the same bunch of shitheads make excuses for when their alleged god drowned a world full of innocent children.
The term is "hypocrisy."

What’s the point of this thread? Conservatives error on the side of life, Liberals error on the side of death. We get it.
