What would be your main gripe of God to air-out? Or maybe you don't have a gripe? But, most everyone here is angry. So, what gives?

Enlighten us Christians on what God (if there is one) should have done right? And what He needs to do to correct it (for you personally)?

This is a serious question btw.

Then I shall answer seriously and with sobriety. Plus, you proved that you really are more moral than the god you say you worship, and even if you don't agree with me on that, just write it off as my own opinion if you want.

If anything, I think Star Trek has consistently nailed the concept of gods on the head time and time again.
-There was Apollo from TOS, who was not a god, but a powerful being who used to be worshiped on earth.
-There was Q from TNG who has infinite powers and even took a keen interest in humans, taking human form on several occasions to interact with them; his powers may have seem unlimited, but he could not be considered a god because he could logically be considered a being with abilities beyond the capacity for current human understanding.
-In DS9 the prophets actually let themselves be worshiped by a race of people, allowing them to build a religion around their divine providence. They were fickle beings, capable of feats that transcended space and time, and they even interfered in a war between the Galactic Federation of the Alpha Quadrant and the Interstellar Dominion of the Gamma Quadrant. You could say it was a literal Deus ex Machina! Even though many people knew they weren't actually gods, but rather beings on a higher plane of existence, there were many that rejected this explanation for the more irrational theory that they are gods and should be worshiped as such.

If a god exists, and if it's the Christian god, then he definitely fits the bill of one of these fickle beings. He lets people come up with stories about him, to make religions based on him, and he even let's them get away with murder in his name. All evidence points to the fact that this god doesn't care about the people of earth, despite what people say contrary to this. If he's real, and if he has interacted with these people, then he is guilty of propagating lies and misinformation regarding the known universe. One of two things is the case here: either he's lying on purpose to further his own twisted agenda, or he really does not know the first thing about science, reason, or morals and is in fact in possession of his abilities by some means unknown even to him.

My questions for this being would be:
-What is your reason for meddling in the affairs of humans?
-Why do you let so many different religions about yourself exist simultaneously, and why do you let people kill each other over the differing tenets of belief?
-Can you work with us to make our world a better or place? If not, can you go away please?

Yes, many people are born into Christianity. I was born into Christianity. Some people I know were born into a household that wasn't religious and didn't even think about Christianity until college.

People are also born into Islam. And Hinduism. and Judaism.

Before I answer your question, I have one for you. Why is this question in the 'Christianity' section?

Your topic title is: "IF" there was a God....

When I see 'a' in front of god, I read that as not referring to a specific god. It seems most Christians can't seem to understand that atheists disbelieve in the existence of ALL gods equally. Believe it or not, it takes me no more effort to disbelieve the claims that the Christian god exists, than any other god.

On to your question.

I believe that the only type of god that has any possibility of existing, is a deistic god. I would ask such a god, "why"? As in, why did you create the universe?

But to respond to the question as if it is the Christian god:

1. Why do you, a supposed perfect being, require worship?

2. Why did you put the tree of knowledge of good and evil in the Garden with Adam and Eve? Isn't that a little like putting a loaded pistol on a table with a 6 year old, then blaming him when he shoots himself?

3. Why did you need a scape goat to be sacrificed to forgive the sins of Adam and Eve? This is your universe, your system, your rules. Couldn't you have just forgiven humanity?

I could go on, but the idea of taking seriously the existence of Yahweh, a tribal war god of a superstitious band of roving barbarians, is kind of silly.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

The questions I would ask would have to do with the state of the alleged god. If this god were not all-knowing and all-powerful, I'd say "well, you're doing okay so far, keep trying to improve". If this god resembled the Christian god, I'd have to ask what the fuck is his problem and why he enjoys misery and suffering so much.

Seriously? The vast majority of Christians are Christian because their parents pounded "Jesus" into their heads from the time they could talk. Of course, this is the strategy of the church. Get the kiddies while they're young and impressionable.
Science flies us to the moon and stars. Religion flies us into buildings.

God allowed 200,000 people to die in an earthquake. So what makes you think he cares about YOUR problems?

To come from somewhere denotes one's place in creation. God existed before creation therefore God did not 'come from somewhere.'

Since you created the universe, it's your fault the toilet seat fell on my cock that one day. You're a cunt. You created hell, go there yourself and let Satan rape your ass.

Your question was serious but my answers might as well be that because they seriously don't matter if I'm up against an all-powerful tyrant.

Are you as deliciously evil as the bible portrays you to be?

The God of the bible is (supprisingly enough) described accurately in the bible.

How you judge that (either based on His righteous standard or on the ever changing standard of pop morality) is up to you.
