You can also find them at colleges, the students mostly ignore them and walk around.

I used to see them in Manhattan whenever I went in there. Usually pushed to the edges like 2d avenue and 10th avenue away from the tourists.
Not so much in Phoenix. Too damn hot for the hell-mongers I guess. RE: If i go to USA, how common is it to see a preacher on the streets

I do think it's funny how some Europeans perceive America. Like it'll be a bunch of cowboys packing around guns and street preachers. Most likely you'll just see people going about their daily business and drinking coffee.

There's certainly some shitty places, but most of the U.S. isn't that much different from anywhere else. RE: If i go to USA, how common is it to see a preacher on the streets

Mostly I've seen them at the beach in Southern California. As a young beach bum, there were preachers there in the summer many days, holding giant american flags and yelling about Jesus at the top of their lungs.
It isn't a common sight, so if you are hoping for the "American Christian Nutty Experience" on any trips over here, expect to be disappointed. RE: If i go to USA, how common is it to see a preacher on the streets

So what you're saying is that if someone wants to see something kooky, Southern Cal is the place to go? I couldn't agree more. RE: If i go to USA, how common is it to see a preacher on the streets

The So Cal beaches in the summer can reach heights of nuttiness, both religious and otherwise.
Hanging out in Hollywood, one might also run across a decent amount of crazy. Must be something in the water. RE: If i go to USA, how common is it to see a preacher on the streets

Another Brit here;
Street Preachers aren't all that predictable, (at least from the outside) though there are some general patterns. In Manchester you'll most likely find one in Exchange Square, in Liverpool it's Bold Street or Church Street, In Chester it's Eastgate Street. They are far less common away from city centres but there are exceptions to that. Llandudno apparently have a team of wannabe missionaries working the North Shore Promenade. But into the centres and you see them quite often. By the main train station in Birmingham there's always an Islamic stand with Muslims trying to peddle the Quran. And even some hare krishna's too.
