No.

Philosophy is mental masturbation for hedonistic ne'er-do-wells with too much time on their hands. I've seen better heads in a cabbage field.
Oops...I meant 'yes' to your question above.

One possibile way that avoids metaphysical problems involves the use of infinites.

That's the gist of the argument. But to develop this further, I need someone who is familiar enough in transfinite arithmetic and set theory to help me with a few issues first. If you're one of them, hit me up.
You are looking for someone to prove mathematically a theory of the universe that went out in the 1930's.
Good luck with that.
Might be an idea to update yourself a bit first on what the latest theories of the universe are and then start looking for mathematical proof.
You could do worse than start with Professor Krauss - you can find him on youtube. He does a very nice talk on "The universe from nothing." Its about an hour long.

If you're telling me to watch Krauss' "A universe from nothing", then it's obvious you know nothing about Krauss' "A universe from nothing".
Seriously, only recommend these things if you're capable of understanding and discussing them.

Seriously? That's your response?
Wow - shot me down, I'm gutted. What a magnificent mind you have. Now carry on trying to prove an outdated theory mathematically.
I'm out.

Every day is "Everyone Be an Asshole Day" when Vinny is around. He's said the most despicable shit on this forum, and that is saying a lot. You'll learn quickly that he's not actually here for a discussion or to defend his own position. He simply likes to poke holes in others' reasoning while never offering up anything positive himself to avoid criticism and pompously stroke his over-inflated ego, all while doing it with condescending arrogance that makes Tom Cruise seem humble.
He's just here to troll and has deliberately earned the title "asshole."

Well, I don't see a problem with "poking holes in other people's reasoning", several users here do that primarily (Genkaus comes to mind), and I don't mind that. Such has been helpful to me from Vinny in another thread.
I haven't seen that. Regardless, I don't see how that means everyone has to be a dick when a request comes up.

This request in particular makes no sense.
All he seems interested in getting is the inability to disprove god, hence god exists.
Should we indulge in such mental masturbation which takes off from a fallacious premise?... or make fun of it?
After sooo many such threads.... people start just making fun of it...
The OP is fully aware of what he's doing, so there's no need for any tip-toeing.

It's true there is nothing wrong with poking holes in people's reasoning, provided your intent isn't to belittle everyone in the process for a thrill. A person can behave like such a dick to the level that any (faux) attempt at reasonable discussion deserves to be ridiculed and insulted. Such is the case with Vinny.

You realize Vinny is an atheist trying to develop an atheistic argument, right?

He comes off as a theist, trying to pass as an atheist... and failing because he can't understand what an atheist is.
He did tell me that I "believe in atheism", just yesterday... -.-'
