Atheist Becomes Catholic

RE: Atheist Becomes Catholic
I guess the Catholics (or theists in general) will play up any story like this as their numbers are dwindling, fast.

3000 churches close in the US due to low attendance.

To use a Biblical saying, "the writing is on the wall" for religion.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

Harsh. Let the man go quickly and painlessly.

My plan if I'm ever completely broke is to suddenly convert, bash out a couple of books, get my own church. Then when I'm bored of that I deconvert, bash out a couple more books and then get a couple of gigs talking about how I went from preacher to atheist or whatever.

Then all you have to do is have a near death experience, and you'll be set for life.

I was think of the declaring myself to be the messiah. Then I get all their money and get to make all the rules such as me being allowed 20+ wives and all that.

A man who has deluded himself into thinking he is a sexual god when the opposite is true.

That's going a bit too far, might earn you a trip to a padded cell.

Only men that have never been married.

It's cheaper to rent than to buy.
