Nice one
I've loved Bill since I started watching QI episodes on YouTube. He's always a riot on that one.

“The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.”

what the fuck Mehmet?
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!
Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.
Dead wrong. The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.
Quote:Some people deserve hell.
I say again: No exceptions. Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it. As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

In some places, it's a hell of a party... the annual slaughter of the goat.

Everyone gets to eat a piece of the freshly killed animal.
Best beef I ever had... And that's when I learned that all you need is a piece of grilled meat, some salad, no dressing nor sauces, and a drink to have a satisfying meal...
Potatoes and rice make your belly bloat... unlike beer...
On the other hand, the first time I witnessed a killing of a pig, I couldn't have lunch... It was The first time I skipped lunch... and possibly the last, thus far...
Dinner was fine, though...

Did the same thing last year too. And the year before that, and the year before that one too.

Not much of a party, its actually a religious thing, but normally students are not required to fulfill that, since we have not enough wealth to buy and slaughter one. So we scrammed a bit of cash together and bought a goat, since we are not going to be with out families during Bayram(holiday) we might aswell have bayram here amongst ourselves.

What do you do with the goat Mehmet? Did you guys eat it afterwards?
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

Are you a Muslim, then? If not, then I'm not sure how the slaughtering is a religious thing to you.
