You're creating a false dichotomy(and also assuming that you would even make the cut for intelligence) in order to keep yourself in the pool. Mental illness is rare enough to easily weed out and still have plenty of healthy, intelligent DNA to go around.

So, to be clear, your idea of a utopia is a world filled with insufferable braggarts loudly telling everyone how smart they are and perpetually attempting to winnow down the gene pool further and further, in an absence of empathy for anyone they perceive as lesser?

Why? Because in this society one does not need to be "normal" or conform. This will be a society of intelligent misfits. Sure, if someone doesn't suffer from mental illness, all the better, but it isn't a mandatory. Now I have to go to school, see you later.
