My family is NOT crazy. My father is even the minister of our church.

I swear on my LIFE my mom said she saw an angel.

THE HOLY SPIRIT: fucking with people's minds since 33 AD.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Sentences two and three aren't the greatest support for sentence one.

You're just repeating bullshit that has already been stated and clearly destroyed with counter-arguments.

THere's no logic in your desperate attempt to justify your belief.

We don't care even if she said she saw Elvis in Las Vegas last week. You have yet to provide a reason why we should believe you. Also, you need to come clean about your trolling.

Why would my parents lie? They never lie about anything else.

I have OCD, and they say right now reading the bible without any context is one of the worst things I can do right now.

So, what they want you to do, is become so gullible before you read the Bible, that you'll be able to excuse and rationalize any atrocity, immorality, and magical event in the Bible.

If you read it before you are gullible enough, you might actually have to admit, that it just may be immoral when 'God' condones owning and beating slaves. Exodus 21

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

It's very helpful to finish statements like that last one with "that I know of." After all, I'm sure you're not claiming you know everything, and your parents are human, so of course they lie.

More importantly, you're on shaky logical ground to begin with; from our perspective everything they've ever told you about god is untrue, but more importantly, it doesn't follow that if what they told you was untrue they were lying. They could just be wrong.

They might not be lying in their minds.

They may be telling you what they believe is the 'truth' that they were as indoctrinated into believing, as they're doing to you.
