Just show me I'm wrong like Tiberius and Synack did (and Summerqueen did on another thread) and I'll admit it and abandon the bad idea or factually incorrect position in question. EDIT TO ADD: By the way, this is the advantage to being a freethinker. I'm not required to hold any of my current positions or ideas about how things work and defend them in spite of any contrary evidence and against all contrary evidence. I can change my mind at any time if reason and facts turn out not to support my current stances. My ideas can stand or fall on their own merit. Faith requires a bit more of a commitment, no?

They aren't opposing your religious stance now are they. The big deal you're making of this makes it obvious your difficulty with pride. It is pride you must abandon in order to say "I was wrong". But once you say it, you realize that ideas don't define you and can be abandoned once they are shown to be wrong. I think I've sufficiently demonstrated that my ideas are subject to change. Bring some rational arguments supported by evidence and I may reconsider my (lack of) religion. Of course, then it wouldn't be religion since it would be believing in what is proven, right? Faith, as I pointed out in my edit above, is believing in things without evidence and against all evidence. It too can be eventually discarded with the admission of being wrong but it's a harder process because its very nature resists being easily abandoned in the face of rational arguments.
