Why? It will be an utter disappointment. Judging by hs ability to engage in actual discussion on these two threads.
Prediction:
We will hear nothing more than "if you expect me to believe that kittens will morph into rhinoceroses..." and walls of copy/pasted text from AIG, Conservapaedia, and CRI. Oh, and of course meaningless Bible passages.

It's not a matter of the "veil of their hearts" remaining; it's about lifting the veil that had prevented them from seeing clearly.
I, like lots (maybe most?) atheists was a former christian. I took up a study of the history of the Bible with an intent to understand it better and thereby become closer to God. Of course, what actually happened is that I learned that the Bible is a wholly man-made mix of folklore, superstition and politically motivated propaganda meant to control people. Eventually, I came to realize that there is no good reason to believe in gods.
Similarly, a lot of christians go into bible college or seminary all "on fire for the lord" only to see their faith erode as they actually STUDY the bible. And, don't forget The Clergy Project, comprised of clergy members who started off "faithful" but became non-believers as their careers progressed.
People who believed just as intensely as Rev claims to — but who came to know the Bible better than he apparently does — have moved on from those beliefs. What does that tell you, Rev?
(He'll probably say Satan got ahold of them, or something equally stupid. Just you watch.)

I read the Bible cover-to-cover, a believer when I started, with no intention of doing anything but strengthening my faith. Doing so opened my eyes, all right.
You could do worse than re-read the Bible, starting with Genesis and finishing up with Revelation. Not because it would de-convert you, but because in addition to learning more about your own religion, it might give you a more nuanced insight than 'your heart was veiled' in addressing people who read the Bible but don't believe.

Rev, I had a thought. When you make a statement like this one, imagine replacing the terms 'Christians' and 'Christ' with 'Hare Krishnas' and 'Krishna'. If you realize that a Hare Krishna could legitiamately say pretty much exactly the same thing without changing the meaning much, it may suggest alternate phrasing to you.

By the way I see your screen name is "dark horse." Are you aware of Katy Perry's song and the meaning behind it?
As someone already mentioned, read and study everything for yourself, and you'll see there's a reason so many believers become unbelievers. Maybe you're one of the "lucky" ones though, and you carry on in your faith. But I think that will be the saddest situation of all.
Strangely enough, I heard that song a few weeks after I chose my user name. I like it. I wish she had made a different music vid for it, as this one doesn't suit the song at all. Would have preferred a dark theme. Okay, so tell me...according to you, what is the meaning behind it? Off topic subject this Dark Horse thing, but I can guess that you're going to give it some interpretation that suggests she's talking about loving the devil or something, so will fit in nicely.
