I rather take my chances with anything other than a gun, I should know I have already been shot and I know what a bullet can do, but yea I see your point.

If everyone was responsible with a gun that would be fine but the fact is most are not, therefore they ruin it for the ones who are responsible, and that goes for everything else also.
