How about Richard Dawkins, is he an Atheist?

Don't bother about the "Checkmate", it is not my point or intention.

That video is completely useless without the rest of the conversation that was happening before it.

Okay, it's like this: if you ask an atheist "do you believe in X god?" where X is the god of any religion (the christian god, the muslim god, the hindu god, whatever) then the answer will be no. That's it. That's all there needs to be, to be an atheist.

However, if you ask an atheist whether or not it's impossible that a god exists, the answer could be a yes, no, maybe, pretty much anything. Believing that something is possible is not the same thing as believing that it actually exists.

That what confused me, and what then is the difference between an Atheist and Agnostic. There are many answers but it is not consistent, ie. as one conclusive conclusion.

You cannot be agnostic.

You can be agnostic atheist or agnostic theist or agnostic deist but not just agnostic. There's a thread about this you should check it out.

The contention that starts with a question "whether or not it's impossible that a god exists", is based on the assumption that "god exists", and the issue he raises is whether it is possible that god doesn't exits at all.

Are you saying that to believe in the possibility of something existing, you have to first already believe that thing exists?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding you, but that condition wouldn't make any sense.

Suppose a supreme being (aka "God") does exist and when it shows up it says that it only cares about bacteria. Would you worship it?
