Too busy helping first world folk find car keys or win at sports or does he like you better than the people who starve?
Whats stopping YOU from helping them? Even a few?
That's an evasion as you well know. What I do is irrelevant to a discussion on faith and prayers.
Can you answer the question? Why does he answer your prayers and not their prayers. I suspect a goodly number of those people prayed. Why does he answer our prayers for first world luxuries, apparently with great consistency, and not theirs for enough food to live? Do you think perhaps they're not praying hard enough?

Having a lot of faith merely means you get really emotional about wishful thinking.

How can you say that. Look at god answering prayer!

What I'm saying is that "I have no explanation for X event or phenomena" is not adequate justification for concluding "therefore, it must be god." Mostly because you could switch out the noun in the conclusion for any other noun and have precisely the same argument.

Your dishonest oversimplified strawman of my position as "I only believe in things I can see" has been noted. That said, it still is an oversimplified strawman, something I think you know, given the length of time you've been on this forum.

I believe that it's possible, even probable given the sheer size of the universe, but I don't think it's true yet. Why would I, without a reason to?

Certainly we do not know for sure if life exists elsewhere in the universe, but considering all the atoms that came from the big bang are everywhere it should not shock us at all. Not to mention like you said, the sheer size would make it a likelihood.

So then..... how do you make the argument: "there is NO God"?
In your own example there is more support in favor of Him!
As I've said many times here: "[If there is a God] does He not get to make the rules?"
Do you hand your 2 year old the car keys? Do you serve your kids, other than give them love and support and direction? We let them go out on there own. Helping them up when they fall, but not interfering with their lives. Its the only way they would want it!
If we coddled them their whole life, they would be mindless, do nothing zombies.... dependent on us for everything including knowing when to bathe!
And they would hate us for all our trouble in the end!
No. You guys only have part of the picture. Only a postage stamp portion of a universe sized tapestry! It's like the monkey that will rip his own hand raw trying to get an apple into his cage.... when all he need do is put the apple to the bars and bite!
You all need to stop thinking like men. And think more like God!
I'm a car guy. What movie was it? I think it was "Vanishing Point"! A bad guy in a hot Plymouth racing through the countryside.... The cop in the movie said: "You need a Hemi, to catch a Hemi!"
You're using a VW to chase a Starship!

And you are an expert on how god thinks? From what I have witnessed, man's understanding of god is merely a projection of his own human, fallible mind.

No... I'm not an expert!
But, I have been given a gift of the Holy Spirit. And a little bit of wisdom. And many, many good, loving people around me.
That's all I've ever asked of God, for myself. And truthfully? It's all I will ever need.

If god was real, we wouldn't need to believe, we'd know.
I forgot, god's just testing us!
Mate, get a grip, most people stopped believing in imaginary friends when they're 5.
I genuinely don't know who's more retarted, you or your imaginary vindictive evil god.
No God, No fear.
