That's a great example. The primitives are fully entitled to enact whatever laws they want in their country and to expect foreigners to abide by them.
Similarly, France has the same right.

Well it's not really for the retribution response, just because they live in a theocracy and don't recognize their people's rights that doesn't mean we can't do them too, banning burcas or whatever the hell those masks are named is not against human rights, what they do in Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan and similar States is against human rights. But I agree with the part of 'You come to live here, deal with it'

The issue isn't one of individual religious freedom. It's a clever propaganda movement to subvert other countries cultural, religious, and political systems and force them to abide by a new one. It's a fatal mistake to think otherwise.
There are numerous examples of various religions co-existing in the past. A recent exeample is when the Mongols swept through Europe they allowed other religions to carry on and even paid for some new places of worship. They didn't try to convert the local yokels to the Mongol religion.
The current version of Islam is different. It fully intends to convert the whole world to Islam. It will use force, such as what's going on in Iraq and Africa, or bribes, such as what's being done in Europe. And it will use the host country's own legal system as well, such as in the U.S. But if it ever becomes the top dog by any means you will lose your head if you resist and lose.

Quote:In short, Franklin was not describing some tension between government power and individual liberty. He was describing, rather, effective self-government in the service of security as the very liberty it would be contemptible to trade.
But it is necessary to read the whole article.
So what are we talking about if we are not talking about an issue with France's self-governance and them sacrificing liberties in the service of security?

They also stone people to death is these countries, should France adopt that too?

"I think I use the term “radical” rather loosely, just for emphasis. If you describe yourself as “atheist,” some people will say, “Don’t you mean ‘agnostic’?” I have to reply that I really do mean atheist, I really do not believe that there is a god; in fact, I am convinced that there is not a god (a subtle difference). I see not a shred of evidence to suggest that there is one ... etc., etc. It’s easier to say that I am a radical atheist, just to signal that I really mean it, have thought about it a great deal, and that it’s an opinion I hold seriously." - Douglas Adams (and I echo the sentiment)
