I'm a clean skin and have never cared or judged what others do.
(Otherwise most of us would be religious!)
I just find that there are some very pretty girls I see but my eyes are automatically attracted to their nose ring or sleeve of roses.
It sort of takes away from their natural beauty that's all.
Whatever makes one happy and an individual I s'pose.
No God, No fear.

My daughter has a 10mm much to my dismay, and uses plastic stretchers , she's never complained of any problems as far as I know .

Maybe in central Africa this stuff would be more accepted- but not likely here.
I am shocked to see an otherwise pretty ( or plain) girl screw up her face.
I don't get it.
I suspect there is some subliminal subculture influencing this.
Is this the case?
Do they hate themselves?
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There are plenty of jobs--mostly artistic--that would allow for free expression. I don't think body piercings or tattoos have anything to do with self-loathing but a kind of subculture expression.
Honestly I think cardigans are hideous and polos in springtime colors are sinful--it's not a form of self mutilation but a mutilation of fashion sense. Nonetheless, the conservative population in my area continues to sport them with pride.
And who cares if a girl wants to "screw up her face"? I'd be more concerned about screwing up your mind with religious delusions.
The gods offer no rewards for intellect. There was never one yet that showed any interest in it.

The woman who delivered my daughter was completely covered in tattoos. Full sleeves on both arms, collar bone and as much of her chest as I could see. I don't even remember if she had piercings. She was a midwife back then but I think she's an OBGYN now. She was great. If you're good enough at what you do, you can find employment regardless of tattoos and piercings.

Discovery will probably lead to you stabbing yourself in the eyes.
From what I've heard I would rather watch The Room on repeat Clockwork Orange style.
(Actual quote from that godawful movie. It's torture put to film.)
Luke: You don't believe in the Force, do you?
Han Solo: Kid, I've flown from one side of this galaxy to the other, and I've seen a lot of strange stuff, but I've never seen *anything* to make me believe that there's one all-powerful Force controlling everything. 'Cause no mystical energy field controls *my* destiny. It's all a lot of simple tricks and nonsense.
