Should we allow Pandas to go extinct?

RE: Should we allow Pandas to go extinct?
I'm not trying to say kill them off, if that's what you mean by mentioning retarded people. I'm just saying there are better things to spend money on than trying to save a species that is going extinct for reasons we're not directly responsible for.

You don't think their sexual appetite has degraded? Then why do you think they've lived for so long when they're dying off now?

That ain’t being ethical that’s being realistic and practical. And what’s realist and practical ain’t always ethical.

Yeah it’s called humanity.

So just because our mayor concern is our own species is okay to sacrifice the rest of the planet to save them?

Yeah that’s why I am pro saving the pandas. It’s called: “taking care of your own mess.” We made the world this way now let's try to fix it.

I’m sorry why were people more important that pandas again?

Then, amusingly, several in the crowd turned around and went "Wait, WTF is wrong with us? We cared only about the dog in distress and not the poor kid?"
I know right. How can they care more about the Dog. What’s so great about the Dog. We humans are so much valuable it’s not like we were a bunch of hominids that dedicate their lives toward hating each others…. wait minute.

Yeah because Pandas are such celibate creatures(you make it sound like we literally mind control them to mate).

I also care about the wolfish extinction since they are also an endangered species and believe me they are everything but cute.

You are one of the last humans alive on planet Earth. A combination of natural disasters had decimated our population... for all intents and purposes, let's just say, we're all but extinct.

Now a race of giant Cloverfield-like aliens arrive, and get this, find us to be the cutest little critters they've ever seen in the entire galaxy and feel compelled to save us.

They take you and pair you up with another human being of the opposite sex. You find the setup repugnant. You are not remotely interested, nor sexually attracted to this other person... at all. You'd rather live a peaceful life by yourself.

Yet the Cloverfield-esque aliens force you two together, setting up various scenarios, in the desperate hopes you'll have many many children to entertain them for years to come.
Dude just say imagine you were the pandas.

Emmm I dunno maybe just maybe because pandas aren’t humans. Nor they reason nor act or value the same thing as humans? Don’t get me wrong I agree that they are unfairly treated because I care. And is because I care that I don’t want them to go extinct.

Seriously guys, let Pandas go extinct! What the hell is wrong with you.

Just answer me one question.

What is the value of a human life if humans don’t value the life of other species?

RE: Should we allow Pandas to go extinct?
I vote natural selection. Just because they're cute and fuzzy, doesn't mean shit. I don't believe in zoos. I don't believe an animal should be held against its will in a friggin' small, confined habitat or cage. Although, I don't have a problem with domesticated pets, I just don't see the morality or the "help" they're given in these animal prisons. I've been to zoos, and I can't imagine being held in a space like that my entire life, while people come and yell, throw things, and take pictures and observe me every single day. By all means, have rescue shelters, and save the animals from oil spills, etc., but put them out in the wild where they were meant to be. I support the basic rights of animals of course, but I am not an animal rights fanatic. I wouldn't have a problem shooting a deer, if I needed it to survive.

There's a reason why they're going extinct. Nature can't provide for them anymore, or the species themselves are the problem. Creating an artificial environment for them isn't going to solve the problem. What are the odds when you let them out into the wild again, that they are going to become extremely endangered? Either you waste resources keeping them alive, or you let them live their lives, and let nature run its course. 99% of the species that have ever existed on this planet, are now extinct. What makes the panda so special? Free these animals from their cages!!!

I doubt the Chinese have any interest in letting their national animal go extinct, just as the US would throw "good money after bad" to prevent the Bald Eagle's extinction. That would leave them with dragons as their only other official animal and we all saw what happened with Smaug. I don't expect either to just fade away without a massive waste of resources first.

"The two pandas in the zoo -- do you care if they fuck? I don't. Why don't they stop telling me on the news the pandas didn't fuck again this year? I'm not concerned. I have no emotional stake in panda fucking, alright? If they want to, they will. If not, they'll watch The Price Is Right."

As I understand it, they are inefficient and very particular vegetarians that relies on free migration over large natural range to find and eat large amount of right kind of bamboo to survive. Bamboo has a way of flowering all at once over a large area and convert themselves into a form inedible to pandas. Previous pandas would move to a new area. But with their natural range extensively reduced and fragmented by human development, they can't migrate anymore to avoid bamboo flowering season.

Basically, pandas are anatomical carnivores that has for some reason adopted themselves, very poorly, to an almost pure vegetarian diet. Their digestive systems are designed for meat and can't pull much nutrients out of plants. They need to eat the right kinds of bamboo almost constantly to ensure they can get all types of nutrients they need. If they can't have the right kind of bamboo in the wild, they can eat all day long and still die of malnutrition.

RE: Should we allow Pandas to go extinct?
Seems like that's still their fault. Get back to eating meat, and maybe you'll have more time for screwing.

I do love animals. I feel sorry for the wolves that our ancestors encroached on then killed because they were raising livestock in wolf territory.

I feel less sorry for an animal species that is dying off because of its own mistakes.

Which is why, it's our turn to wave goodbye to them, as they leave this planet. Don't worry, I'm sure we'll put some in the natural history museums, so people can sob all day over them.

Another major concern I have is are the Chinese exploiting the Panda as a white elephant?

Giving one to a recession-recovering country is a huge economical burden. Shit... its all Edinburgh f**king talks about these days is getting one of these animals pregnant.

You cannot reject the gift, and yet neither can you afford to accept it either.
