Where do you come from?

Be fair, Americans in general pretend to read the bible on a pretty even scale. Most Christians don't read the bible either. I've read my bible more as an atheist than I ever did as a Christian.

I'm pretty sure there are stronger atheists in Europe by the way.

They are and they actually manage to read the Bible instead of just pretending to do so like American atheists do.
I don't understand this comment. Why are you acting like reading the holy book of a religion we don't believe in is something atheists should be doing?

Because it looks bad when you argue with someone about something you're not familiar with...for most atheists online, I never have to back up my religious views because their secular views on the matter are quite incomplete.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

I was born in Texas, lived there eight years; lived in Asia in my youth; lived a long time in California; and a few years more in Texas as an adult, where I currently live, about thirty miles outside Austin.

My views Teletubbies are also quite incomplete, and yet I still can't stand those little bastards.

Especially the Belgian one.

From Fairbanks Alaska, living in po-dunk Georgia at the moment. The Bible belt is an interesting place to live. Never a dull moment.

That about sums it up. I don't need to know all the details of Christianity. The parts I've heard/read about are enough to convince me it's all make believe.

So Polaris, have you read the holy books of every religion you don't believe in? If you haven't, then how are you sure that they're not true?

"The greatest deception men suffer is from their own opinions" - Leonardo da Vinci

"I think I use the term “radical” rather loosely, just for emphasis. If you describe yourself as “atheist,” some people will say, “Don’t you mean ‘agnostic’?” I have to reply that I really do mean atheist, I really do not believe that there is a god; in fact, I am convinced that there is not a god (a subtle difference). I see not a shred of evidence to suggest that there is one ... etc., etc. It’s easier to say that I am a radical atheist, just to signal that I really mean it, have thought about it a great deal, and that it’s an opinion I hold seriously." - Douglas Adams (and I echo the sentiment)
