Police on Saturday responded to a call of shots fired outside the Old Heidelberg restaurant and bar, and found 53-year-old Glenn Patrick Lampien sitting on a bench, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. Lampien was bleeding from a gunshot wound to his hand.

Officers soon learned that a Texas woman across the street had been shot by the same bullet that traveled through Lampien’s hand. Attempts to save the woman at the scene were not successful, and she was pronounced dead.

According to a police report, officers were called about 3:15 PM. Thursday to a home on Park Avenue after the residents said their house had been shot at several times. Investigators were led to the house next door, where they questioned Cook about the incident. At first, Cook said that he fell and the 9-millimeter gun he was carrying accidentally discharged. Later, he admitted to shooting at a cat that was lying on a bed in a downstairs bedroom, the report states. Cook told officers he was angry at the cat because it was clawing at several items on the bed. The bullets went through Cook’s home and into the neighboring house. A search of Cook’s house, which he shares with his mother, uncovered 31 guns and an “enormous” amount of ammunition, according to the police report.

@Minimalist... Apart from posting a link to a story about an insane or incompetent person doing something stupid, how do you feel about someone who carries a kukri or other blade?

Not thrilled with it. The thing is, knives rarely go off by accident and seldom hit people 2-3 blocks away.

Of course, if a cop sees a black person with one they are deadly...to the person holding it.

I understand the utility of a pocket knife or bladed multi-tool like a Leatherman, but I don't understand walking around town with a kukri.
