It sounds like you are in it because of fear, Mo. There is nothing at all to indicate that little threat story is real. There is much to suggest it is not. All it is, is the made up stories of some long dead humans who were not very advanced in their knowledge of life and death.

You always seem to want to 'discuss later' and will be 'making a new thread to explain...', but the majority of what you post are simply quotes from the Qur'an. Your silly book is not going to convince us of anything. Repeatedly posting verses is akin to preaching and that will get you absolutely nowhere. What it says in the Qur'an is not a valid reason to believe anything it says is true. A book cannot be its own validation.
You have failed to show us in any way, whatsoever, why you believe what it says in your religious text. And, back to the original topic, it did, indeed, sound as if you believe due to a fear not to. But the question is... 'What if you're wrong?' It was directed at atheists, but theists can answer it, too. What if they are wrong? What then? Thrown to a "devourer" Suffer for eons before being reborn as a worm And swim in molten metal for thousands of years Of course, you will be sharing all of these punishments with the rest of us. So enjoy eternity, mo! (June 7, 2010 at 12:27 pm)Paul the Human Wrote: It was directed at atheists, but theists can answer it, too. What if they are wrong? What then?thats why i will never stop searching and increasing my knowledge regarding religion as i dont want to discover after my death that i was wrong
@Rhizzo and Paul- I don't think my camera is powerful enough to zoom outsie the universe... it's just a kodak; Could you lend me yours? There you go again with physical evidence of the immaterial.
Hope this will at lest suffice for a little chuckle. [img]http://images.fanpop.com/images/image_uploads/God-monty-python-380132_800_441.jpg[img] As to what if theists are wrong? Absolutely nothing will happen when we die if we're wrong and we'll all be in the same boat, and hopefully we didn't make this planet worse. Now answer the question with an answer instead of a redirect. What if you're wrong?
"There ought to be a term that would designate those who actually follow the teachings of Jesus, since the word 'Christian' has been largely divorced from those teachings, and so polluted by fundamentalists that it has come to connote their polar opposite: intolerance, vindictive hatred, and bigotry." -- Philip Stater, Huffington Post

I already answered. It was in the form of a joke, but it was a real answer, as well. If I am wrong, I will be surprised. I will probably burn in hell, because I did not worship god as I was ordered, even though I have been a good, kind, and charitable person my entire life. So, I will end up only being partially wrong. I will have been wrong about his existence, but correct in that he is an unjust tyrant of a deity. |
