What is the point of Heaven?
|
Heaven does many things, one of in which is that it is suppose to provide a sense of hope and meaning despite the inevitability of death but in reality it only serves as a source of delusion.
heaven is also suppose to be a just place but again it is not especially if you consider the Christian heaven. ...Meow Ut supra, ita inferius

The best part about heaven is that I won't have to put up with all this bad humor--for eternity!

You'll be bowing to and praising an egomaniacal deity for all eternity. Oh, what fun! Playing Cluedo with my mum while I was at Uni: "You did WHAT? With WHO? WHERE???" I want mature (over 40) weathered men please. I would like my nubile young body back too because it ought to be paradise for everyone involved--a little eyelid lift wouldn't hurt either. And can there be books, paint, and at least some challenge (point) to existence?
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god. If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.

You know, you've really got the wrong idea of heaven. Seems like a major perk in heaven would have to be watching the vilest torments being meted out in Hell.
If exalting God was wearing a little thin after a few billion years, an afternoon watching unbaptized babies in Hell being disemboweled by red hot rabid pit bulls over and over ought to restore considerable enthusiasm for being in Heaven. Depends on the interpretation of the gospels that are used. Playing Cluedo with my mum while I was at Uni: "You did WHAT? With WHO? WHERE???" |
