It does! It's got a Gideon's Bible stashed away in the dresser drawer. I have a serious temptation to annotate it, specifically the terribly predatory opening few pages which basically amount to: "Are you in a mentally or emotionally weak place in your life? Here's Bible to prey on that insecurity."

She's right, it does suck.

You waste all your worthwhile kid-life wanting to be a grown up, and then suddenly you are. And you have to be responsible, you have to get up in the mornings, if you don't do your laundry it doesn't get done. You find that you never have time to take pictures of wildflowers or play with your crayons or eat your silly putty.

Does anyone else detect some slight, bitter irony in my traveling ten thousand miles to see Luckie, and for her to get us a hotel room for a few nights exactly for that purpose, only for her to be hospitalized until that time is up?

Just think, you're finally here and the two of you finally get to be together. Just keep reminding yourself that you've been waiting all this time and now you're finally together. It sucks but you've got a whole lot to be happy about too
In fact I'm quite jealous of you for being closer to Luckie than I am.
