Are men more likely to be outliers?

I was watching a potholer54 video when a interesting point came up. Many of the creationists that are the public eye are men. The it occured to me that most of the people speaking out agianst this are men to. Not to say that there aren't women on either side of the spectrum, just that it seems not as many are in the public debate. However we can extrapolate this even further and see that while men make up most the prison population, they also make up most of the National Academy of Science and CEO's. I find this odd given that from biological prespective a average female brain is better wired to be a ceo then a male brain, as a female brain passes information from lobe to lobe more efficiently.
The more think on this the more I wonder is it because of discretion against women, as is the more traditional explanation, or is it a inherent male trait. One male trait that comes to mind is aggression, as it need not be violent but often is. In fact I think aggression when focused and used constructively it can be a positive trait. But the strokes I paint in here are very broad and I want the thoughts of others, especially women.
I also hope this doesn't sound sexist, as I am certainly not. But I believe we should understand the differences between genders and peoples, AND afford everyone equal opportunity.

Tiptoes quietly between the landmines and whispers,
"You want me to start discussing, strength, IQ, spacial relations, or something else? Because while I agree that the male bell curve tends to have a longer taper than the female bell curve for a number of things, it's not cut and dried and parsing out the cultural aspects ain't easy. And if the thread's going to go bomb, maybe we should light the fuse that interests you most."
Adds brightly:
"So, is the overly male prison population and CEO list a result of genetics, culture, or both?"

I don't know. I certainly don't have a problem with women being in charge. It makes me feel like I'm at home.

There may be some truth to that. Strange as it sounds being a sociopath generally makes someone more successful at being a CEO.

I haven't the faintest clue. Though I suspect it has to do with male agression really. Of course another trend I have witnessed at times is girl being told by their mothers they can't do that career or have to behave this way. Though I will truly never understand how someone could cling to non sense, let alone use it bash their kids dreams.

Quite possibly, one thing to note is that neurological differences and disorders are less common in women and less severe. In fact that could explain part of what I'm seeing here, especially in the sciences. See asperger and high functioning autism are usually less prevelant in females then males. It's very well known that people with ASD's (Autism spectrum disorders) tend to do very well in the sciences, if simply by having a neurological make up that is better geared towards systematic study and mathematics then it is towards social settings and interaction.
