Feeling proud of myself: my parents were going on and on tonight about how voter ID laws are great and for once I had enough information about a topic to justifiably correct them.
My dad, of course, scoffed away anything I said that sounded "liberal" and just about stuffed his fingers in his ears when I countered his "liberals just want more voters voting for them" with "conservatives want to disenfranchise voters who don't vote for them."
Teenaged X-Files obsession + Bermuda Triangle episode + Self-led school research project = Atheist.

People thought that I was an atheist because of a stupid misunderstanding. Once I clarified what I meant they started talking about how smart I am to understand the thing I clarified (oh my ego got so stroked)
Fortunately, they expected a misunderstanding
