Is it?

IDK, for the sake of this arguement it is. Here I have to difer to tradition, as the bible simple tells us not to allow a witch to live.

So what are we doing here, entertaining a scenario in which someone is defined to be totally irredeemable and malevolent and the only solution is to burn them alive - and then you seem surprised when someone advocates burning them alive?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

At this point it seems like you want us to play a FPS on rails instead of a RPG. You are setting a straight path, a evil boss at the end, and a flame thrower in hand with the only option being kill or game over...

Ok so what if.... witches as per folk tales and scary movies existed? (Not the dbag witch/emo/hippies we do have) but real fly on a broom, steal your children cook and eat them, prey on people in general, no prision can hold them, can only be killed by water or fire, but real as the day is long???

Would it then be ok to have an hold witch hunts of old/Salem witch trials?

What if #2: what if just a few hundred years ago these type of witches really did exist and it wasn't superstition and rampant ignorance that over took people. What if the population was then just as aware of reality as we are now, only that the variable in the equation was reality itself and not our ancestors knoweledge of it? Meaning the supernatural was stronger than it is now?

Would that change your view of what they did and why they did what they did?

Then why are you so surprised? In this scenario, I condone burning witches. It has to be done.

Ok this is an interesting post.

In this hypothetical situation how did I find out that witches were real back then and not just a myth?

Bare in mind that witch hunting still goes on today in less well educated countries and those witches as far as I know don't fly on a broom or eat children, it's normally done by malicious people, or just seriously mentally unstable people, and often results in child abuse in cases where parents believe their daughters or sons are possessed.

Interesting fact (Interesting if it's true I mean)
I've heard somewhere that the whole flying on a broom myth started because women used to treat thrush with herbs, applied on the vagina with a broom handle, some of the herbs were hallucinogenic and resulted in a flying sensation while the herb was applied.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

Now imagine that senerio when ever someone points to a portion of the bible or history when for those people at that moment in time that was the situation.

so if god told you to make a flame thrower and go door to door and burn your neighbors houses down in the middle of the night you would do it because god said so? Thinking if he said that to me personally i would give him the finger that's if he even exists.

Someone finds a old book a spells, summons a demon and the door to witchcraft/demon possession is back open and all Hell breaks loose again.. New problem, created by a period book that verifys the old problem.

If 'god' told me to do something not consistant with scripture then I could identify it as a false god no matter what he brought to the table.

Again the goal in biblical Christianity is to follow and Worship the God of the bible. Once 'a god' deviates from the bible it can quickly be identified as a false God.

Now if Acts 21:13 said thou shalt roast thy heathen neighbors when call upon to do so by the lord your God... then lets just say if i were you I would not goto the denver get together next summer.

I heard that too, but it didn't work and just made my ass sore for days.
