Nope, theism or a-theism didn't build any of those. The beliefs of people are irrelevant in this case.

But I didn't call them contributions by atheism but by atheists. I agree that the beliefs of the inventor or discoverer in question are (usually) immaterial, but the brute fact remains that the contributions were made by people who happened to be atheists.

GPS apps, and google maps based navigation and notification apps are quite common, yours doesn't seem anything innovative or out-of-the-box. Moreover in that post, you didn't go into any actual useful details like the algorithms, design patterns e.t.c. So how exactly are you planning on 'contributing' with that? After all, this 'app' of yours isn't out of development yet, and you haven't made any of it's source code available. At this point, that post is nothing more than a rant.

First of all, I didn't choose the idea of this project ; it was forced on me -personally I would prefer something more creative & new-, having capitalist teammates along with a market-worshipping supervisor is what made the idea. I was the team's main developer because simply the options for other teams were "limited".

Second of all, the code (about 90% of it) is my own typing, especially the php + serverside scripts. Also the Android part is mainly hardcoded by me.

Third, a google map requires lots of editing because the api gives it to you "raw". In other words, has nothing but basic info, if you want markers on the map you gotta add that by yourself, so you need to study the google turorials on how to access the map via (javascript) and make your own code..It's me who wrote the map's code.

FOURTH : THIS IS THE LINK FOR THE CODE :

Fifth : I didn't get a single cent from these.

So, it means you're just a hating elf .

Probably one of those "anti-arab" people who skin arabs alive in europe in race crimes.

I never said this means islam is correct, it just means muslims are not stinky miltia men wanting to cut your head.

Some of us -like me- are hardworkers & smart & productive.

Thank you so much for sharing the list. It means not all atheists are bloodthirsty maniacs like Stalin.

This list is a strong proof in front of extremist-muslim claims that atheists do nothing but terror in this world.

Understood why I posted the original post ? Smile

Eventually, all of us -humans- have the good & the bad. NEVER narrow it to a certain group all the time without considring the good and the bad concept I just presented here.

So basically, what you're saying is that people can and do both good and bad things and make positive or negative ccontributions to society regardless of ideology.

This is news how, exactly?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

This is the part liberal and moderate believers and liberal atheists do not get. If humans of all labels are capable of doing good then the goodness is in our evolution, not in books. But if people insist on finding their morality out of those books they always ignore that others read those same words to justify very horrible actions to other humans.

Maybe to you it's nothing new, but to others it totally is.
A lot believe the mainstream media & its negative image about Arabs & Muslims.

Lots of people believe muslims live in caves & don't know anything.
I was trying to spread awareness that this is false.

What, the idea that humans can do both good and bad things is new to some people? Sorry but I'm not buying that. I refuse to accept that people can be that naïve.

I happen to know, back in Melbourne, a very good Muslim doctor, and he is absolutely brilliant.

I also know of a case from the UK a few years ago where female Muslim medical students who refused to wear short-sleeved scrubs because it was against their religion, thereby putting their religious beliefs above the welfare of their patients (there are reasons why scrubs are short sleeved).

So yes, good and bad among the religious.
