Eternal punishment is pointless.

Yet god himself disagrees with you in certain parts of the bible.

"Thou shalt have no other gods before me" implies there are others, as well as this quote: "Do not worship any other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God."

If there wasn't any competition going on, god needn't be worried.

Quote: God did sacrifice His life so that everyone could be saved, however that salvation couldn't come without His resurrection.

So to whom did he sacrifice his life? To himself obviously, since the father, the son and the holy spirit are one. The resurrection of an all powerful being, temporarily giving up one aspect of his trinity, isn't all that impressive.

Yahweh isn't saving anyone from anything. When you threaten people with something that you created, it's called blackmail. Or if it's just separation from Yahweh and not hellfire, then there's really nothing to save us from. He's just a narcissist who doesn't think people can be happy without him, so he's trying to "save" us from being ourselves.

God, the being so perfect that he sacrificed himself to himself to save us from himself.

An eternal grudge against people does not justify eternal punishment. That's just petty cruelty.

The Bible does not speak of a grudge, that's something you made up. I explained why the punishment is justified, if you do not like what I showed you then you'll have to take that up with God.

If you don't forgive someone, it's called holding a grudge. Whether they want to be forgiven or not, whether they deserve to be forgiven or not, if you don't forgive them you're holding a grudge. I didn't make it up. I just know what the word grudge means.

God who sacrificed the Son for mankind to save us from ourselves. If you were to study the scriptures you might find that you are making things up only to satisfy yourself. Why is it atheist are so objectionable to stating the truth.

The only reason we need to be 'saved' is because God created Hell in the first place. Why not just forgive us, without having the requirement of worshipping him? That seems like something a truly loving god would do.

God sacrificed his Son for mankind, so your statement of Him doing nothing is false. You have nothing to worry about when it comes to worshiping God for eternity, hell is reserved for those who do not wish to do so. Now you only have to worry about what hell will be like.

So for three days your god was dead? Not living? Not extant?
