Something something because Dexter.
People are puzzles. Sociopaths see what's on the surface, and can use that with physical and deductive evidence to piece people together in a manner that they can start to understand. Empaths read what's going on below a person's skin, and can use that in conjunction with observation of the person's behavior to lead them to evidence that the person doesn't know they've already given. These are not mutually exclusive traits (empathy and sociopathy).
A sociopathic empath is a callous manipulator, and is the most frightening being for the delivery of violence... essentially: the most effective kind of serial killer is the one who observes everything about a person without ever getting 'close' to that person.
Dexter's got an MO... he follows his rituals, marks victims as his kills. A 'better' serial killer would effortlessly kill in myriad manner and move on, relishing in the thrill as people try to piece together a puzzle that doesn't exist because the kill itself was simple. An unstoppable reflection of all that humanity can be.
But... where would the fun in that be? Attacking an unaware target is so easy that they might as well be comatose... no rush, no thrill, no danger; a kill that won't link to anyone, but also a kill that will not be remembered. A simple slash across someone's throat as you walk past them? Boring. Ending a child who followed you out of interest into a secluded area? Dull. Killing the same kind of person all the time for the same reasons and in the same manner? Fucking monotonous. I don't know how most serial killers can stand it.
Callous Alice isn't my gig anymore, but... even if she was? She wouldn't be boring, and while death can be an amusing joke on occasion... it's lifeless vapidness is chore, especially if one starts to live by it.
....
What I want to do, Dystopia... is to travel alone and homeless, and preferably without killing anyone who isn't being 'interesting' I'd probably assume that 'someone currently or recently engaging in rape, murder, or trafficking' would apply... but the likelihood I come across such in a manner to be of significantly more effective use with a knife than I would with a 911 call to the police is a rare rare feature indeed, and lives/innocence would almost certainly have to be dependent upon it.
I'm far too intimacy-loving a person to be a SK these days... I just can't even take that life seriously... and it's certainly not worth giving up what I want out of my life for cheap thrills that I can get better in my head.
Quote:Season? I didn't know Death Note had seasons, I just downloaded all 37 (or 36?) episodes and watched everything in 5 days (I was working). The ending is shitty but not conceptually shitty, it's emotionally shitty, at least for me it was.....
I'm just assuming that L's death and the start of that horrendous death metal and the 3 year gap signified 'new season'... I was just telling netflix to play the next video each time one ended

I almost feel that I can't call you nappystain anymore... and this makes me sad.

Dexter fits a description of someone with psychopathic tendencies and some deeply disturbing SCHIZOPHRENIA (Seriously talking to dead people and all) but he is overly self-aware and thinks too much about what he does to be considered a clinical psychopath (also - He feels connections to people).
This is a great idea for a TV series. Or anything else, really

You should write a novel on that

It gets better about 3 episodes before the end.
Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you

Hopefully a bit of flesh and bone, or we'd be looking into some grey matter.
... Anyways... I'm avoiding word salad unless I'm asked very nicely why asking that question is a misunderstanding. If you specifically were feeling any emotion 'at this point in time', I doubt you'd reflect it in your posts... and if you wanted me to follow a rabbit hole to come to an understanding of a person whose approach is consistently impersonal? That just sounds like a pain, especially on a forum like this where an impersonal person might go over their posts and eliminate emotion from it... and only a few 'marketypes' would do that. None of them all that 'fun'

Hidden creepy. Love me~
I don't find Dexter's schizophrenia all that disturbing The delusions are far more interesting things than are the hallucinations.
I wonder what it really means to be considered a 'clinical psychopath'... heh. 'I thought long and hard about it with my dead father-figure, and then stabbed this fucker in the heart and gave him a marking cut, therefore I'm not a proper 'psychopath' as far as the medical institution is concerned.' Effectively, what you're saying is that the only 'crazy' ones are the ones who don't know it. I don't disagree, I'd say that delusion is frightening because they're righteous about it... it's not crazy, it's reasoned... possibly terribly, but the person has justified themselves to themselves.
Probably best to leave violence to the telly. I would much like to see characters like that that... imaginary or otherwise. Deaths blending in with other deaths, nothing to connect them... simply the connecting of such a murder string would be an awe-inspiring happenstance Your war not so much a showy chessmatch... as it is a subtle horror that begins to become clear, a painting that paints itself through death... which pieces matter, which ones don't... a simple puzzle that is designed with tens of thousands of extra pieces. No criminal dna record to check, no recorded prints (and as if they would help in the first place... simple doesn't leave much room for them)... it'd certainly take interdepartmental assistance, but how would it even get off the ground if there was no discernable pattern.
It would be not so much a television series... as an epic built out of bodies not hidden and therefore completely hidden. Murder not 'premeditated'... just simple elimination, and moving on. Could be interesting from the standpoint of challenging the system, but the system wouldn't care.
It would have to be made to care. Wanton terrorism. Move on. Sabotage, move on. Fire? Move on. Burn them. Destroy them. Kill and maim them. Make them care Make them struggle. Make them rip each other to pieces, and blow the sidelines away. Indiscriminate. A message has to be strong, after all. Not a message through words... but through symphony. Indirect helpers manipulated to do your handiwork, foster revolution. Become interesting. Something has to be done. So many suspects, none matter. How long would it take? Easy stressors, knock the pillars of the system out. Copycats rise. Attention seekers take all credit, but it never stops. Does it. Cameras and phone data primary assets, can't carry mobile device, location services, draws a map. Witnesses pain. But they have to care... they can't ignore it. They would be made to care.
* Violet is done with her creepy mode~
Interesting. Not for me now (something matters, people matter... even if I was ripped out of the life I'm in, I can't stand to make a bad world... I need them to live a wonderful life), but... interesting. What would they do. What could they do, but hope for a mistake by someone whose pattern is that there is no pattern, and whom knows all their moves? There is only the leaf, the wind, and the trees felled in the leaf's wake.

Wait... what? I thought a bunch of people left and were replaced while I was gone! I knew that you could check past usernames, it just never occurred to me that they might be people who had changed their names recently. Sure, you can see when they joined, but occasionally we get some guy who joined two years ago and didn't post till now, or someone whom I've never met who was on long hiatus, or something...
Well, I for one have no plans of making a username change.
Changing username and avatar is extra sneaky.

Is it? Do tell me me how it is so? This is a privately owned forum by the most awesome libertarian that I'm aware. This is not public service and it is free for people to join and leave at will. So forgive me for defending the few (the fewer the better IMO) rules that help maintaining this community thriving. Dictatorship... phew....
