Quick Poll - Do you believe in God?

That is very silly.
Why God would satisfy all your needs?
Would you do your son homework knowing that in this way your son would never learn anything?

Quote:You sew how many different religions there are. If God was really real there wouldn't be so many different ones. People made these religions up centuries ago.

Ever more silly.
Your son grow up and he started taking decisions that you may not like.
He is not a baby anymore and he is responsible for his life so let it be.
His life is now in his hands whatever decision he will make.
End of the story. Confused Fall

No, but I would make sure he did not get sick, suffer, get mugged, car wreck, etc.. I do not have the power to guarantee any of that, but a god would.
You make people miserable and there's nothing they can do about it, just like god.

God has no place within these walls, just as facts have no place within organized religion.

Science is like a blabbermouth who ruins a movie by telling you how it ends. There are some things we don't want to know. Important things.

What you are pointing out is also part and parcel of learning.
Why he get sick?
You can bet that he didn't look after his health so by becoming sick he will learn to look after his health in a better way.
Why he got mugged?
You can bet that he was not enough careful maybe by going around in unsafe places or by showing off or so many other way which attract the attention of criminals.
Car wreck?
Driving under the influences of so many items.
Going too fast or not paying attention to the road rules.
By getting hurt he may learn how to avoid troubles but again all these troubles may well be a direct consequences of previous wrong actions in this or in previous lives so again the trouble always come for a good reason. Cool Shades

Blaming the victim? Nice. What would you say about someone's child that was raped, what can the child learn from that?

1) I believe that this was a direct consequence of actions in a previous life.
Probably he was a rapist himself.
As you probably know the cops only manage to get less than 10% of criminal so by having not been apprehended and paid for his crimes in a previous life he had to pay for his previous mistakes in this life.
He raped in the past and in this life he will be raped.
2) How can he learn the lesson?
The outer mind can not possibly remember what happen in past life but the inner consciousness know 100% of the past.
By carrying this heavy load the inner consciousness can not possibly rest in peace so the only way to find peace of mind is to get rid of that burden.
How does it get rid of the burden?
By recreate the same circumstances in which the action took place and therefore getting rid of the burden.
Now don't ask me for evidence that the system work in this way.
This is what i believe and it make 100% sense to me. Wink Shades

Wow. Toss Riketto right up there with Drich on the immorality scale. Apparently rape victims deserve it.

So what you're saying is that in a previous life, you were batshit insane?
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Wrong again Fat.
There no such a thing as revenge or hate inside the cosmic consciousness mind (God).
If that would be the case God wouldn't be perfect.
It all boil down to action and reaction which are part and parcel of the life in this universe.
If you study physics you should know that every action has got to have an equal and opposite reaction.
As this happen in the physical stratum it also happen in the mental and conscious stratum.
Nothing therefore about hate or revenge. Cool Shades
