LucasOil stadium is like 5 years old. No way they're moving.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

You guys tend to hold double standards when it comes to your fellow atheist.

You should be against bigotry in ALL cases.

Calling out and trolling.

Huggies, have you got anything to say about the actual topic of the thread?!? Indiana has [passed a law protecting bigotry] and all you can concern yourself with is a perceived bigoted comment. On top of that, you have to troll other threads, calling out a poster, both are rules infractions.

that would be the gold chains and rims part...
And, going for the de-rail.

Hopefully the backlash from within and without will kill this law in it's infancy.

So, you'll make this explicitly about my race, in a post about how it's bad to be racist? Thinking

Quote:Out of curiosity, If he said used "fried chicken" instead of "bling bling" and "using watermelon for currency" would you see that as racist?

Why don't you just ask him? Seriously, why are you so content to have "I know more about what he thinks than he does," as your position? Do you just like baselessly shit-stirring that much?

Do I need to do it for you?

They need to make Indianapolis a no go for further Super Bowl host site contention as long as this bill stands. That's a LOT of money off the table for a city with a brand new stadium/sports complex.

I don't know if would change much, but it would also be good to pull all primetime games from Indy as well.

Maybe the Colts can be the team to go to the city no one wants to move to. Los Angeles Colts, maybe? Of course, it would depend on the owner's take on the situation. Here's hoping they're not bigoted fucktards.

Indy would lose HUGE money if their pro team started bailing out.

I love the LA Colts idea- huge fan! I'd actually get to go to games sometimes (I really dislike going to Chargers games), because as it stands right now, Indiana is a state only to be driven through, not actually visit. It scares me there.

As others have said, there is no way the bill will stand. I think it will only take one lawsuit for it to get shut down.

Unless the Colts owner built it, why not? L.A. is currently planning a pretty new sports complex and I'm sure would welcome them with open arms.

And you deduce that the above is racist? Are you that paranoid? You do realise that every single race wear gold chains, they drive around in nice cars, so, what is your point? Get that chip off your shoulder and stop trying to say something that wasn't there in the first place. In fact, it is people like you that make racism a great deal worse, simply by blowing all things out of proportion. Secondly, it is probably a fact that gold chains and flashy rims are more associated with Mexicans.

As Parker stated above, the words "simple people", were used, and you managed to deduce racism from that?

If I saw it, I would have called it out as I have done repeatedly on this board when someone makes makes blanket comments about certain groups.

But it's still a very different pair of shoes and I'm rather amazed at you being that naive, since it can very well be used as a door opener for all kinds of discrimations in the name of religion. Race included. Still, introducing a law to allow discrimination is very different from any individual making bigoted comments.

Well the Colts invested $100 million in the $750 million project. In exchange for the city/state footing the rest of the bill, the Colts signed a 30 year lease.

They aren't going anywhere.

Well, I see Huggies is getting the full on thread de-railment he wanted.

Too bad the unconstitutional law passed in Indiana means less to him than the perception of a racial slight because it will cause far more harm if it's allowed to stand.

Wonder how the good people of Indiana would take it if an atheist opens a business there and decides that under the new law "protecting religious freedom" the decide that no one wearing visible religious paraphernalia will be allowed in. After all, they're only protecting their right to no religion.

They walked away from a lease in Baltimore and the Raiders did the same in Oakland and again in L.A. Besides, I'm sure that the ownership group of the complex in L.A. would make it worth their while. Big Grin

I'm not seriously saying that the Colts would or should move. Just that it would be nice to see it happen as a response the the fucked up law.

I don't know much about the United States, but I guess that the only people who are discriminated against are those who dare to speak out against the systematic brainwashing of people by religious maniacs. In fact, from what I have heard, it is about time the Atheists over there started making their voices heard loud and clear. There clearly needs to be more Sam Harris, Dan Dennett, Christopher Hitchen and even Lawrence Krauss types to get the ball rolling. Dawkins needs to increase his visits to the bible belts and get to those who might be questioning their faiths.
