I'm probably a minority among males, but they both have the same effect on me. A major turnoff.

But you all do realize that most major religions have rigid antisexual laws? It's easy to explain, because attacking an instinctive urge and calling it a cardinal sin, you gain power over the minds and bodies of your sheep. They're easy to manipulate, once you created the neurosis.

Don't worry, my friend.  If this be the end, then so shall it be.

Ah hah!  Apparently there are positives for us gals too.  The genitals stay healthy and self lubricating longer if we masturbate.
http://www.everydayhealth.com/sexual-hea...efits.aspx  Hubby will appreciate that in a few years. Oh and it reduces the chance or heart disease and urinary tract infections.  Also strengthens the pelvic floor making incontinence less likely. Obviously all good things.  http://www.womenshealthnetwork.com/sexan...ation.aspx

Once again---it's a violation of natural law because. . .

It all depends on how you interpret the story of Onan spilling his seed and whether masturbation was considered part of 'pornea'. The pleasure derived from the sexual organs serves to both motivate men and women to join in productive unions and to strengthen the marital bond. According to natural law, masturbation is considered an abuse of the natural function of the genetalia, since it is not conducive to either.

Orgasms helps you: sleep better; increases your sexual longevity; reduces depression; and reduces the risk of cancer, incontinence, cardiovascular disease, and type 2 diabetes.  http://www.womenshealthnetwork.com/sexan...ation.aspx
Oh, and women who masturbate have longer sex lives with their partners than women who don't.  Hubby will like that. Big Grin  And it's generally good for our sex lives with our partners.  People who masturbate have more fulfilling sexual relations with others.

And, as a former chronic pain sufferer, I can tell you that it's a mild pain reliever as well.

Sounds like genitalia serve a few more natural purposes than just deification and baby making.  And like all parts of your body they, and you are healthier if you use them sensibly and often.

So, it sounds to me like your description of "natural function" is limited at best, and unhealthy at worst.

I was going to post most of what Jenny A did in response to Chadmo's 'natural laws' BS.  Since she beat me to it, a meme:

Like homosexuality, it's weird that Christianity fixates so much on this issue given the tiny amount the bible actually talks about it. In fact, it's a stretch to even conclude anything about masturbation from the bible, unless I've overlooked some obvious reference.

But oral myths trump everything, even god's word.

I don't know if it is actually a sin or not, just that I don't do it.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

Natural law has always been evidence based and I guess since there are health benefits please excuse me. I need to get some Kleenex and hand lotion from CVS.
