I've spent 28 years dealing with Americans. I would not call that limited experience. I have probably spent more time in the South than you have spent out of it.
So what? That doesn't take your observation out of the realm of fallacious thinking.
I should have thought that such a smart non-American would have been able to easily see the point I was making. Looks like I gave you too much credit.
Look, if you want to carry on with your foolish irrationality, have at it. Don't expect a free pass, though -- you'll have your sloppy thinking pointed out each time you trot it out in an attempt to buck up your tottering self-esteem.
As for how much time I've lived outside the South, you really don't know anything about that, now do you? Assuming shit about people you don't know is not a good idea. I'm not going to give you my CV, because some asshole on the Internet doesn't deserve to know that much about me, but I can assure you that you're wrong, to the tune of decades. Dumbfuck.

Here in America we call that "getting our redwings". It's not something I'll do ... again.

And does that really even matter no it doesn't no one really cares how long you spent dealing with Americans. Great even better you spent your time dealing with the people in the south who are clearly not even bright congrats you have been dealing with people who are very easily manipulated how do you feel now.

Parkers. The point you are trying to make is you're a butt-hurt Southern hick that likes to defend America when people besmirch its honor. It's actually not good for my self-esteem to compare myself to someone of your level. I assume you have not spent much time outside of the South based upon the quality of your posts and how Deep Southern you act.
Dyresand. I am not sure you should be saying people in the South are not that intelligent given your grasp of the English language, which I assume is your native tongue.
Rob, eating blood is forbidden since the Jewish (and Christian tradition through the Book of Acts) is that the blood is the life force and eating the life force is taboo.
Whateverist. I thought it was pretty clear that saying it's not my job to convert and never having tried to convert them while also not judging them for doing something I won't do on religious grounds was proof enough I am not holding out on converting them.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

You've heard the old example that "Atheism is a religeon like "off" is a TV channel?"
It's like that, only it's imagined by a theist twit that atheists argue over whose TV is more OFF!

You guys do that all the fucking time on this forum actually.
I have a weird definition of secularism according to what you stand by it seems (based off of your argument) where I base it off the secular state in line with a more Vulcan practicality.

There are a number of religions that can produce what you are speaking of, Buddhism (which is atheist) is one of them. Yoga with or without woo, seems to produce much of the same. So does meditation, with or without god. A number of artists, musicians, and deep thinking scientists seem to have it. Terry Pratchet appears to have had it. And while I've met Christians who are as you describe, I've not met many.
I get a sublime joy and connectedness when I'm at work in the Preserve, when I look out at the stars and know that as distant as they are, their ashes make up my body, when I'm at the beach and marvel at the fact that over millions or years the waves have incessantly risen and fallen and yet no two have ever been identical ... to my mind, inventing an artificial construct in order to arrive at joy bespeaks a mind incapable of perceiving the wonderment and beauty that we are immersed in. Yes, I get that when hiking, on the beach, or in the garden. Occasionally really emotionally connected sex will do it. Sometimes breast feeding did that, but it's been more than a decade. I also sometimes get it working on a painting. If I do, it tends to be one of my very best paintings. Do you get it playing?
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god. If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.

@ Polaris - Wow. And you call ME self-centered. The majority of this thread has been primarily about you. You insulting otheres and you being an ass. What a shame that you come off as full of hate towards many here. Why bother to stay on these boards if you really can't stand any one that's here?

My threads generally ask a question to elicit discussion whereas your threads are about how your friends treated you "badly" because you decided to insult their religious views. I have similar friends on Facebook who act just like you and anger our more conservative friends because of their radical left views....I am quite a bit more radical left, but never get into issue with it because I don't go around bragging about it on Facebook save for a few Green Party posts during the 2012 elections.
Also, my friends would not have known I was a Christian had I not had to provide an actual answer as to why I could not date a divorced women or eat an aforementioned food.
Live by this motto, none of your friends really give a shit about your views. You will live a much more happy life with that in mind.

You forgot the bit where you quickly get to blaming whitey for everything.
