Hey guys. I thought I'd post one of these because why the fuck not huh? I have high functioning autism so ask away.
To-morrow, and to-morrow, and to-morrow,
Creeps in this petty pace from day to day,

Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player,
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage,

Fascinating spectrum of possibilities. Any special abilities in music, math or ....?
I wonder if or when you ever felt different from others. Did you wonder what was up with other people who lacked your enhancement/disability. And, of course, do you see it one way or the other (i.e. as enhanced or diabled?)

My gift appears to be in the form of reading comprehension. When I was tested at 16 I was reading the level of someone with a masters degree. As for wondering about other people without my uniqueness, I used to wonder all the time what it would be like to be thoroughly normal, but I came to the conclusion that would be boring. I actually now spend more time wondering about people more like me as some of them are very non functional individuals. And I wonder how they all themselves to be like that.

All the time. People react different to me, look at me different, some are just plain nasty.

I imagined that would happen - It must suck (probably) - Whenever I find someone who appears to be autistic or neurodivergent I react as I would with another person.
How do you feel when you see institutional instances of discrimination, like when a parent kills an autistic kid and people are saying "well the parent was suffering I don't blame them"?

Depends. With me you wouldn't have known when I was a small child unless you know what to look for. So the reality that most of the ones that get killed off never really have a hope of being anything more then a screaming two year old for their existence. Therefore I can see why some parents are so hurt by this, but to just kill your child? That's a act of a monster.
So no the parents suffering is not justification for murder. The real institutional discrimination is in the schools. Many teachers are stupid, bigoted, and set in their ways. Even worse is that what little funding there is to help learning disabled and disabled kids often goes to the kids munching on the crayons while going to a glorified daycare.

Do you feel that getting a diagnosis helped you? I ask because I know that some people don't receive help until later in life.

Its mostly with socializing and none verbal cues. I've coped by tryingto learn to consciencely read people. But mostly people get weird vibes off me from own weird body labguage. To people that would judge on that I usually just think that if that's why you don't want to be around me your not worth my time.

Yes. But not in a direct way, as in educational situations the only thing they can do to help me is a scribe. Namely because autism is a kind of a vague term and I'm on the very functional high end. On the other hand learning about the neurologocal differences in my own brain is fascinating.
