Yes, I think so...

The problem with time travel is it is easier going to the future and we can do it as of now you get in a close enough orbit around the sun and let time dilation do its work.
The problem is going back in time that is the harder thing and the fact being there is too many paradoxes. In the mean time there is a simulator. http://www.businessinsider.com/physicist...tor-2015-1 Though if one could be made it would be interesting.

The paradox i know about traveling back to time goes like this:
Consider a person X ,and Y as his girlfriend. 1. X comes back to 1999 from 2010 and tells the X living in 1999 that X should not marry Y because in 2005 Y will dumb X and will leave X depressed for 3 years. 2. So if X is now aware of the information and doesn't marry Y how can he come back from 2010 to 1999 and save his past self. I thought about this and what i think is this: *If there are an infinite no of realities, each with its own possible outcomes not dependent of the other realities. *Then X could've come back to the past X from one of the realities in which Y dumps X.(Every reality doesn't necessarily have to have the scenario that Y dumps X because every reality is different.) *The past X doesn't necessarily have to be in that specific reality from which the X from 2010 comes and warns past X. No more paradox? I probably did something dumb in doing so though
why use the third dimension to time travel when the 4th is more of the better way of getting around to it.
Interstellar did show the 4th dimension in a fascinating way. Though the person could see the events and knock over a book or open a window they couldn't have gone and walk around freely as they were only observing. But for shits and giggles let's say you do go back in time and you meet yourself 1 or 2 things can happen, 1 you stop existing 2 you can see how you really are as people see yourself (really a mind fuck). But why travel back in time when you can travel so far into time, essentially time loops back in on itself. I mean there is heavy speculation that the universe is collapsing back in on itself http://phys.org/news/2015-03-universe-br...scale.html I mean if you have the money the technology and even the science why not figure something out, freeze yourself along with some people wait it out for a couple billion years for things to restart.

The way your story goes, it seems that your universe or "reality" does not change at all, it is just that you change another "reality" or universe. So it does not do you in your universe any good at all. "A wise man ... proportions his belief to the evidence." — David Hume, An Enquiry Concerning Human Understanding, Section X, Part I.

I was kindda hoping you'd not see that
Maybe if you want time traveling to not have any paradox traveling to the past - maybe that's what you gotta do. But hey, what do i know about the technicality.. Yeah, exactly, maybe that's why they say you can't ever change your past. Even with timetraveling you'd not change nothin
Or, just maybe, the past includes the efforts of any time traveler trying to alter it.
IE... you can't go back in time and kill Hitler before WW2 because all of Hitler's past that we know would include your effort to try and kill him. |
